Here is a piece from an article from The Athletic re: Nagelsmann and Chelsea. Really sounds like he spoke with Chelsea and saw the clown show that's happening there and noped out quick.

This makes me think JN wouldn't see Spurs as a charity case and is genuinely looking for a project to lead

It’s like dealing with an awkward family that change their mind every 10 minutes about what they want to do, they then spring random requests on you on the day of the funeral like can the family dog page out with me, then the flowers that turn up aren’t the ones they ordered and the ones from the ex husband aren’t allowed on the hearse so you have to ask the bearers to bring them along, a giant bird shits on the bonnet of the hearse as I’m paging out, the crematorium play the wrong music and close the curtains when they asked for them to be left open and then Grandma Doris trips over some flowers in the flower court and has to be taken to hospital with a concussion.

In case you’re wondering, every single one of these things has actually happened to me on a funeral 😂
Ashamed to admit that I’m desperate for it all to have happened at one funeral… 😳

JN will not be coming to us. Likely Madrid.

A bit of a non story not unlike that of the return of Poch.
I can't see Madrid going for him tbh even if Ancelotti leaves.

Are they really going to bring in a 35 year old who doesn't speak Spanish? They might admire him but doesn't feel like a very Madrid appointment to me - they tend to either go for legends or experienced managers. Also think it's too big a job for Nagelsmann to take at this stage of his career given how it worked out for him at Bayern. Think PSG is a more likely destination for him if he doesn't want to come here.

Got a feeling we'll get Nagelsmann. Levy will view him as the perfect choice - he's an archetypal 'project' manager, would inspire the fans, might persuade Kane to stay, would command general authority in dressing room and plays attractive football. Now we have no DOF I wouldn't be surprised to see him offer Nagelsmann the chance to choose the replacement and completely shape this 'new era' in his image. If RM, Chelsea and PSG are off the table I reckon he'd take the chance.

NAGELSMANN: Now it's getting hot with Tottenham

by CHRISTIAN FALK, TOBIAS ALTSCHÄFFL UND FLORIAN GROVE

Where does ex-Bayern coach Julian Nagelsmann (35) sign for his next stop as coach?

After Nagelsmann and Chelsea FC could not agree on a cooperation, the next club is now hot: England top club Tottenham Hotspur!

Tottenham had shown interest in an immediate commitment after Nagelsmann's Bayern exit. There has already been a request. Nagelsmann, however, wanted to take a short break first, not jump directly from club to club. Hence the cancellation.

However, taking over Spurs for the new season does appeal to Nagelsmann. Nagelsmann is now concentrating on this option. He would be interested in the task.

Nagelsmann, who had pre-empted Chelsea with his rejection according to information from BILD and SPORT BILD, would accept the job that his Bayern successor had turned down.

When Thomas Tuchel (49) signed for Bayern, there were already talks between his management and Spurs. Tottenham had concrete interest in parting ways with star coach Antonio Conte (53) after he had violently attacked the team ("Selfish and not willing to help himself") and the club ("You can change the coach, but the situation will not change. This owner has been around for 20 years and you have never won anything").

Tuchel enjoys an excellent reputation on the island, leading Chelsea to Champions League victory in his first season. His successes with Paris St-Germain (including the final of the Champions League) are also highly credited to him in England as well as in the rest of Europe.

In the end, however, Tuchel opted for Bayern. Now his predecessor in Munich could take over the job from the summer.

And the Bayern bosses would also be happy about an agreement between Nagelsmann and Tottenham, as they would then save the salary of the released coach (estimated at 6.7 million euros per year). In addition, the Munich could still demand a transfer fee for their ex-coach.

To be honest we're not that different to Chelsea. This club is a shitshow

I feel that the chelsea rumors are just the press moving from one link to another without anything really happening. Now that he's out of the race for the chelsea job they need to link him to someone in the PL

I’ve been saying for years if you got say 10 busy FD’s and their staff together and got them to compile all their experiences you could make a fucking banging sitcom out of it

Source for this is still same as this morning - Sport Bild aren't anywhere near as good as Bild, unfortunately.

Having said that, positive noises coming out of Germany can't be a bad thing. Given the public nature with which he ruled himself out of the Chelsea job (definitely leaked it to Fabrizio via his agent), no news is probably good news.

If nothing else this should see things starting to move from our perspective.

I suspect we were loitering around the toilets in the hope Naggels would fall out with Chelsea.
