There’s no such thing as a sure thing when it comes to football managers. Everyone’s gonna come with risk. The most important thing is hiring one who fits with the club’s philosophy and what it wants to become. That will greatly increase the chance of success. At least on the surface, it seems like the club are doing things the right way and looking at managers all of whom are similar profile which gives me hope that the club do have a plan for where it wants to go. If this is true, then it’s encouraging.

I never said anything bad about his record.

All I said was that he's only had real success in one country - just like Slot & Postecoglou.

Gallardo has never even managed in Europe, he would be just as big of a risk as the other two.
Sorry if I come around too strong. His record in a very difficult league and country is remarkable.

That is the problem. We do not have a ‘philosophy and what it wants to become’. At this rate I cannot see any clear way ahead.

“Gallardo also isn’t part of the list.” There goes the problem. But Ange and Slot are. That alone speaks volumes.
Thanks for the info although quite confused as to what that alone speaks volumes means. For me Ange and Slot are both fantastic options in terms of their style of play and character and both less risky than Gallardo so I’m taking it to mean speaks volumes either about us deeming Gallardo is too risky and/or that we are looking at attacking style managers and Ange and Slot on the list speak volumes about our change or approach in terms of what we are looking for with the next manager.

Im still get night sweats that Galtier and Glasner are on the list 😂😅 and we will end up with one of them 🤦‍♂️

Surely Gallardo would be more of a risk given his lack of English compared to the other two.

Ange - 77 wins at Celtic - 74.76 win %
Rodgers - 118 wins at Celtic - 69.8 win %
Gerrard - 125 wins at Rangers - 64.8 win %
Neil Lennon - 2 stints - 159 wins and 77 wins at Celtic - 70 win %
Beale - 18 wins at Rangers - 90 win %

These are probably the latest SPL manager names I recognize and how they fared in terms of win %. Ange has trumped Rodgers and Gerrard who were trusted with PL sides, Lennon went to Bolton (I believe in the championship at the time?), and Beale looks like he'll be the next hot thing out of that league in a years time.

I can understand the Scottish league debate for sure, especially after Gerrard failing as miserably as he did but to say Celtic play terrible football is just telling us you don't watch Celtic
Watch every league mate, only team I don't watch is the gooners, not being malicious we shouldn't even be looking in that league.

Tbf Ange has had success in Scotland, Australia and Japan. Not the barometer of leagues you want for a massive Prem job, sure, but he’s done terrific jobs everywhere.

Shame as in terms of style of football the Argentinian league is a lot more similar to the PL than the likes of Holland and Spain for example. Also Brighton wanted him when Potter left so that in itself speaks volumes I feel. I’m surprised he isn’t on there and Slot is.
Thank you. Had he gone to Brighton now and pulling up trees we would want him. This club with Mr. Daniel Levy has no idea how to run a football club. May as well leave them to it. Too much confusion.

Yeah, I'd love Ange.

Think he's exactly the type of manager the club need.

His style is perfect and he's a fantastic bloke.

I know sweet FA about Scottish football but I like Ange, watching him in interviews and that he strikes me as someone the fanbase would really really get behind .

He's next job must be a Leicester, palace etc
No way can we take a risk on a coach with his CV, sorry
It would be a crazy risk, levy will never take imo

To be fair also, the Dutch league isn't massively competitive also but that doesn't mean that Slot shouldn't have an opportunity to show what he can do in the premier League.
The Dutch league is much more competitive than the Scottish league and Celtic are much better placed to win their league than Feyenoord.

In the last 23 seasons, Feyenoord have won the league once (PSV have won 10 and Ajax 9), Celtic have won it 16 times, in that same time period, 5 Different teams have won the dutch league, only 2 have won the Scottish league.

Probably the case, and I think he’ll probably be a Prem manager sooner than later with one of those clubs. But also worth noting he was on Brighton’s shortlist to replace Potter with RDZ and Knutsen.
