The content doesn't match the "shock leading contender" headline. It just says he would be interested, Levy has been impressed and we are putting together a short list, probably all true but reads a guess work to me.
If I was Kompany I would stay at Burnley - if he does well with them in the Prem next year then he could become Peps long term successor

curlacious

Don’t look at me. I’m irrelevant.

Yes, he's A leading contender. Probably one of a list of about 12 leading contenders.

We’ve been knocked out by Boro, Norwich and Sheff U the last 3 years

The really damning one is the Europa where we’ve made 1 QF in ENIC’s time but made the CL QF 3 times - it’s a clear strategy
Yeah, hence me putting "however that does appear to have changed from and inc the 18/19 season, but I think it is more under estimating our opponents."

We have only made the QF twice in the CL haven't we? The loss to Real on our first outing and the time we made the final. Europa league is a different kettle of fish, you have to play 2 games extra to get to the QF than you would in the CL, have to play on a Thursday it all adds up.

No idea of veracity, but they're putting it forward as an exclusive🤷‍♂️

Doubt he'd be a leading candidate like they say, but wouldn't surprise me if he's on the list somewhere.
He’d do me nicely

If Kompany is a leading contender then we are thinking in the right direction.

He is exactly the type of person and character we need and he plays the style of football we want.

He’s transformed Burnley in no time at all.

Id be all for this gamble if we couldn’t get Nagglesman, ONLY if Kompany was committed to a long term project with us and not as a stepping stone to the City job.

Yeah don't get the appeal personally, he's still way too raw IMO.

Even if he ends up good he'll be off to City :ROFLMAO:

We need someone for the long haul.
Long haul? What’s that 18 months these days before a mutual parting? Promotion to first team no2 for YaYa by the sounds of it, let’s groom the pair of them so they can bugger off to Citeh when the call comes in.
Why would Kompany want to go to us when he’s doing so well at Burnley anyway?

Totally agreed. He might not be my personal choice but he took a squad turnover and has them playing completely his way and everyone can see the stamp he's made.

To me that's better than forcing in a candidate that has had the best of the best players given to him. There will certainly be questions if he can handle the bigger egos, but agree with your main point that it's the direction we should be looking in. Gallardo, Ange, Slot, and Kompany all play good stuff but come with risks.

Sincerely hope we're looking at Kompany. He's the type we should be looking at, young, lots of potential, showing impressive signs with a lesser team, not a failed hand me down from a bigger team with a better environment and more money than us

Also has the personality, positivity and strength of character to galvanise and motivate our players and fans.

Bit raw tactically but has done very very well to transform Burnley’s playing style.

Not n.o1 choice but if he’s on a list with Nagglesman, Gallardo, Slot etc then we’d be very much on the right lines for once 🙏

when the Sun reports kovac turns us down it’s bollocks.

when they report something some of you want to believe it’s all of a sudden a credible read? Hmmm

I’m selling some new, extra tall magic beans. Who wants?

Looking back I couldn't believe we'd actually failed to get out of the group in 11/12! With that great team we had as well, we lost home and away to PAOK 🤦‍♂️

CL final run aside our recent record in Europe is just terrible.

Conference League was a huge missed opportunity as well but as seen from the Zagreb debacle the season before too many of the players just don't take it seriously, whether that filters down from the top, probably.

Narrator's voice *It would totally only be as a stepping stone to the City job*

Nagelsmann. It's fucking Nagelsmann, not Nagglesman and not Naggelsman. All of you have read his name often enough to be able to fucking spell it correctly.

Fucking numbskulls.
