This is from last week but I think Ossie may have given something away here..

Many many more? Sounds like someone is planning on staying in London..

Yes I'm a sad prick reading into things too much.?

He means it by he will be playing golf regularly.

I saw the club pro tweet with a photos saying he's been giving him lessons.

But yes looks like youre right.

I do find a little bit weird/cringe hes hanging around London but thats me looking too deep into it aswell.

Probably means no replacement for Paratici is he is banned...
While the football might be better it just feels like it's going back through the same cycle.

He's very settled here, apparently. His family are settled. There's nothing sinister to it.

I actually think it's not the worst situation if we get Poch in now. With the takeover talks ongoing we can get Poch in and see out the season. We can get a good idea whether he can get us playing again. Hopefully we can get new owners in a few months and then they can decide whether to stick with him based on how we're shaping up.

One thing I want most however is Paratici or another in charge of transfers. Poch just needs to identify what he needs and leave it to him to get them in. I can actually see this team not far off good enough for Poch but we still need to sort the defence for him. Funny if he brings Lo Celso back though.

It’s definitely in a better place than the one he inherited before. Smart additions and a tweak in style/tactics is obviously needed

Thing is if we don't get Poch, then Poch's return will hang over the new guy. He's coming back at some point

I can't believe this to be honest.

A bit shit luck with the year Antonio has had but have to say I'm fuming that we finally get a "in their prime" serial winner in, show signs that we'll follow his plan, then immediately start retreating away from it at the first signs of rough roads.

Yes Conte didn't commit long term, but there's fault on both sides to blame for that.

As huge as a Poch fan that I am, I just can't see it ending too well unless we clear out some of the aging talent in the squad and give him a blank canvas to work with young and hungry players.

Sure Poch may deserve better than that but it's the blueprint that worked before and with Poch you can't have 7-8 of the 11 working hard pressing and the other 3-4 slagging off, which is what I still pinpoint to the downfall in the final season.

Kane and Son, at this point in their careers, cannot carry out a high-intensity press. Is Poch capable of setting up in any other way?

I would love to see him back at the club some day but I don't think now is the right timing.

Not if the plan was Poch all along? That is a plan?
It's possible and I do think he's Levys top choice. He couldn't get him at PSG but he's available now. He just couldn't sack Conte after getting top 4. It kind of reminds me of the end for Redknapp. I think we waited for the right moment to sack him and go back to our plan of a modern day coach in AVB.

We do make plans at times just not great ones.

And this right here is everything that is wrong with the club. At this point if we are about to move Conte out whilst still in competitions, there shouldn't be a favourite for the job. There should be one already sewn up and waiting for the inevitable to come to pass. Especially when he's not currently employed.

Totally agree with the broader point but wonder if he’s the “favourite” and not sewn up only because he’s going to have a laundry list of his own demands that must be met before he gets back into bed with Levy.

Not that a “promise” from dear Daniel means anything whatsoever.

If you think "What would Levy do?" in the current situation of course he's gonna go for Poch. He's always after the headline grabbing managerial appointment - whether that's a 'proven winner' like Conte or Jose, the next big thing like AVB or Ramos, or a club legend like Hoddle or Poch (second time). The exceptions like Harry, Poch (first time), Jol and Nuno were when he had his back to the wall and no other choice.

For a clearly very smart bloke he seems to have a very simplistic view of football management. "Poch was a success before therefore he will be a success again". "He played attractive football before therefore he will play attractive football again" "The fans adored him before therefore they will adore him again".

That's not how it works, sadly, and I'd fully expect Poch mk II to be a pale shadow of his first tenure, meanwhile we miss the opportunity to bring in someone fresh with new ideas without a ton of baggage and expectations.

If we bring back Poch I bet we'll be looking for another new manager within 2 years.
