It's an absolutely mad appointment if that's what they do. Potter lost the players with them all thinking he wasn't up for the job apparantly and he was out of his depth. I'm sure a coach, no matter how talented he is, who most of them will probably never have heard of let alone respect will be welcomed in by them without prejudice.
well just as we have had to do, you have to sleep in the bed you've made if you choose to sign players with unprofessional attitudes who won't play for the manager in charge

The problem is, all managers are a risk. Personally Id rather Enrique over some on like Ange or Slot. No guarantee on anything in Football especially with Tottenham Hotspur.

I liked the idea of him initially, but the more I think about it, the more he seems like another big name Jose/Conte type profile and I don't think that's what we need.

The football would be a lot nicer and he'd be a more jovial character but I think the outcome would be exactly the same with him gone in 18 months-2 years with nothing to show for it. He rarely lasts long in jobs and he'd come in with huge expectations that we'd likely never meet.

He's has also quite strongly hinted he doesn't want to come here from the way he was talking about PL jobs once ours become available. Something like "I don't see myself going to the PL now or in the summer - I want a serious job if I go there".

Well apparently Enzo Fernandez has said Gallardo was "like a father" to him at River Plate, so that's probably enough for Todd to give him the green light.
Alverez also waxes lyrically about him. Gallardo well known for being an excellent developer of youth talent so I can understand how that might be appealing to Chelsea considering their new modus operandi is all about getting the best youth talent.

honestly this might be a hot take, but i'd happily take enrique over gallardo.
Personally i find Enrique more risky then most of the targets we have been linked to. He has only excelled in Spain and only for two seasons where he had a front three of MSN, in his third season at Barca he completely ran out of ideas and even himself said he was burnt out. His only stint outside of Spain was one season at Roma and it was a complete failure which also raises questions about adaptability and whether his tactics and style of management are specifically suited to La Liga. After all he's never even played football for a team outside of Spain. I mean, yeah how he adapted the Barca system into something more direct I could maybe see working in the PL and his time at Celta was decent but personally I struggle to see the appeal. That being said someone like Ange doesn't necessarily make any more sense to me and I guess all managers have risks involved.

Aren't we really keen on JN who fell out with the senior players at Bayern?

I think its more just when you go to a "super club" they tend to have bigger more established names who are more used to managers of a similar standing.

It's why Arteta cleared out all the senior players at Arsenal, you can see in the Amazon doc none of the older ones really seem to take him seriously.

There’ll probably also be a vacancy at that small team in Spain named after @Real_madyidd.
Doesn’t Ancelotti’s deal expire in summer 24?

I know there’s been a lot of smoke, but I’m not convinced he leaves before his contract is up. I think Madrid think they can get Klopp next year if he has another average season at Liverpool.

Potter doesn't strike me as a particularly passionate manager tho, maybe he is but he always seems quite reserved. Gallardo on the other hand is and i'd feel that would go some way. Potter always seemed quite unsure of himself whilst he was there, constantly tinkering with line ups and clearly out of his depths. Gallardo will spend the next few months learning everything he can about the players from a physical and mental aspect and as I've said he's exceptional at developing youth players. Pottter didn't have the luxury of time, Gallardo will. Doesn't mean it will work out but considering Gallardo has a lot more experience of being in high pressure environments then Potter I wouldn't be assuming it will go the same way.

The biggest issue for whoever managers Chelsea is their stupidly bloated squad. One would assume that will be dealt with come summer in some way or another once there is a new project in place.

True, so many factors, there personal life /home sick, , and the team need to fit / they need to be able to mould the team, sometimes I think fir most managers it’s the luck of the squad they inherited. Some managers can fit around a team to a point.
Regardless we need a better starting 11 especially at the back!

I think we do need a manager who will appreciate the job, yet not be over awed

Sorry I don't know what this is proof of?

Pretty sure Levy has said the samething

Who is going to come out and say what our primary objective is to increase the value of the club. There would be instant protests and people campaigning them out
Compare and contrast:

"Our aim has always been to combine the financial stability of the club with remaining competitive on the pitch. We have to do what is right for us and sustainable in the long-term.

The general feeling on him staying seems to be more in relation to how they do in the CL. I think the way the league panned out has left a rather bad taste in Prerez's mouth (Barca are 12 points clear in first) and even tho they got the win in the Copa Del Ray there is some talk that he might need to be moved on. So it seems it will really depend how far they go in the CL. Some have even said that he will need to win it to keep his job. Ancelotti on the other hand seems to want to stay even beyond the summer. Ether way I don't think its been decided yet.

Yeah I don't think Levy has actually ever said "on field success" is one our aims has he? Maybe he has and i'v forgotten.

Our squad won't be much better when everyone returns either. We have our similarities to Chelsea and there's even a reversal of style change. It kind of feels like we've tried to convert to a Chelsea style and they've tried to convert to our style. Conte and Potter probably would have suited a job swap and stick to what the clubs know best.

Don't know about anyone else, but he came across like a petulant child on Saturday and had a go at Stellini before kick-off. We don't need that here.
There seemed to be tension from the first whistle between coaching staff. Makes me wonder if they all know something.

One thing you cant deny is Brighton outplayed us with some very nice football.
