I want this Conte project to keep going. I think he could be really special here. We quite literally can not get anyone better than him.
I'm sure I read that Spurs have an obligation to buy Porro on July 1.TBF I can see any one of Nagelsmann, Tuchel or Poch being appointed if Conte departs. I think Levy has been clever and left his options open transfer wise - both Porro and Danjuma are loans (Porro option to buy) so we've not really spent any money in January which means a new manager in the summer is not stuck with two fresh players he doesn't fancy.
Correct, it’s an obligation to buy.I'm sure I read that Spurs have an obligation to buy Porro on July 1.
Maybe if we have to embark on a new project - Kompany should be in the conversation for how he has Burnley playing.
Hardly, when his contract expires in a few months and it’s a very real possibility he won’t renew. The fact we have this thread says everything about Tottenham Hotspur Football Club at this time - Pathetic.
I agree there is certainly a great deal of logical sense behind getting him especially if QSI come in as they are supposedly fans. My personal issue is that for me he’s not a big enough step away from the the defensive style of play we have become so accustomed to over the last few years. I know he isn’t as near as reserved as Conte or Jose but he isn’t ultra attacking ether. Personally I’d like a clean break and go for someone like Gallardo or Nagelsmann if he becomes available. I’m also just not a fan of 3 at the back formations and never have been. There's probably better coaches out there but I think he might be the best fit for ENIC ownership and likely wouldn't rip things up and shift us back to a back 4. We have to get a coach in who will blood the youngsters, it's the only way we will get success whilst keeping transfer spend under a certain level.
I expect Levy massively regrets not moving for Ten Hag, he would have fitted us like a glove.
He might be talking about the situation rather than the thread.Hardly, when his contract expires in a few months and it’s a very real possibility he won’t renew.
Isn’t discussion the whole point of a forum like this?
Would we necessarily be much better off? Ten Hag will still want backing and I could just as easily see it as having gone wrong if he didn't get the players he wanted. There's probably better coaches out there but I think he might be the best fit for ENIC ownership and likely wouldn't rip things up and shift us back to a back 4. I mean he isn't all that bad in my opinion, he becomes such a good fit because like Conte he utilizes the 352 343 systems. He went from Braga B to Braga and led them to win Taça da Liga. He left that summer and went to Sporting where they won Primeira Liga (they hadn't won this since 2001/2002 season either), Taça da Liga & Supertaça Cândido de Oliveira. Losing only once in the league and that was the 2nd from last game to Benfica away 4-3. They only lost 3 games in total that season. After 139 Games with Sporting he is accumulating 2.16ppm also which is a solid amount. Is he that good a coach then, I wouldn't say he's exactly pulling up trees in Portugal this season.
I am talking about the situation we find ourselves in yet again, not the content of the discussion thread.Hardly, when his contract expires in a few months and it’s a very real possibility he won’t renew.

^^^ThisIf it must continue to be under this ENIC regime then it has to be a coach that will work with youth and improve players. I would also like to see us play that high press, quick tempo football again as opposed to a defensive team that plays on the counter all the time.
Top priority has to be someone who has a track record of bringing through youth talent and improving young talent like Sarr, Gil, Udogie etc. Because any manager who can't do that won't work under Levy. Then i'd agree you need fan patience on top of that if possible which means a more front foot style. I don't know of any available coaches who'd fit those parameters though, whilst giving us a degree of continuity like Amorim would. He would be a stable and solid appointment imo.I agree there is certainly a great deal of logical sense behind getting him especially if QSI come in as they are supposedly fans. But like you say, there would be sense in going to him after Conte.
And obviously I would love Conte to stay but personally I just don’t see it happening.
I imagine a coach like Nagelsmann might get a tune out of Rodon but other than that he'd need defenders. I think any coach who came here would.Nagelsmann can also set up in a 3-4-3 but is more tactically flexible, his base formation at Bayern is more 4-2-3-1 AFAIK.
I think he would probably need substantial investment in the squad to get enough technical players to be able to make his adjustments. His CBs, whether in a 2 or a 3 need to be comfortable on the ball.
We’re probably going to need that anyway though, if we’re ever going to do anything.
Fairy muff, but there’s also a very real possibility that events in his personal life could have had a huge impact on his decision making process as far as continuing with us.I am talking about the situation we find ourselves in yet again, not the content of the discussion thread.
The fact that someone of his quality looks very, very unlikely to renew after the end of this season shows our club in a pathetic light. IMO
Of course the point of this site is discussion, I was adding my opinion to the discussion.
It won't work, especially after the novelty wears off. He improves players sure but his record with academy players was abysmal and he caused a lot of lasting damage in that department. He will want signings he's just not going to get.I really want Conte to stay as I think that's the key to us being successful. If he does go we are going to see another season of 'rebuilding' and Kane will likely follow.
So if that were to happen, my choice would have to be Poch. I get what people say, hes recruitment was not the best and he does have hes floors. I would have liked more of the 'old guard' gone before he's return as well.
Positives, we played some of the best football for 2 years. I'd like to see what he could do with Spence, Udogie, Bissouma, Skipp and Sarr.
I just want to see some entertainment back and that 'feel good' factor to return.
Maybe if we have to embark on a new project - Kompany should be in the conversation for how he has Burnley playing.
I remember someone asking him why he played a certain way and he said he saw Liverpool ( I think) do it so he just got videos and copied it ?, always made me laugh but I'm butchering the storyNagelsmann can also set up in a 3-4-3 but is more tactically flexible, his base formation at Bayern is more 4-2-3-1 AFAIK.
