Just saw this on Twitter. Trying not to get my hopes up, like you say its very tentative but got to say tho, now I really really hope Ange turns us down. 😂
Agree - this is a positive development. Today's noise around Ange on social media (and the shortening on his betting odds) seems to be almost entirely driven by Dan Kilpatrick's article which had very little new information.

I hope the club is actually talking to Enrique and Gallardo as well because they just seem far better options and have a pedigree to inspire both the squad and the fans.

I may be wrong but I think most fans would be happier with Gallardo than Ange...
Tbh, Im getting really fed up with who we would be happiest with, makes no difference. Gallardo could come in and be fucking shit, he could also be the Manager who wins us the Prem. Big Ange could come and do exactly the same.
Baldy McBalderson also doesnt give a shit if we are happy with who he appoints. Whoever walks though the door, we need to back in the stands and Levy needs to back with cash. The negativity has to stop, its consuming us as a fanbase.

Part of me wonders if this is what @Hercules mentioned the other day, in that the club are floating different names in the press to see what the reaction would be. Of course its probably more likely nothing, but honestly I never understood why we Gallardo wasn't on our shortlist. Because of how much I believe he is the right pick for us I am going to ignore it for now tho.

I really hope it isn't Ange, as has been said before, yes he has shown he plays attacking football, but so do a LOT of other managers, and he really hasn't got the credentials to manage us.

People saying he's playing amazing football in the SPL - they are playing against teams with a 10th of the wage budget!

Celtic pay around £21million a year in salary, rangers 2nd with £17 mill, then the next closest is on £3 million! With that type of gulf in salary and transfer fees, he should bloody well be dominating the league.

I know he can only play what's in from of him but Celtic have been, and will continue to be the dominant team in Scottish football with or without Ange. He may have them playing more attacking football, but every team bar Rangers goes ultra defensive against them. I just don't see this as an achievement by winning the league with the most expensive team in the league by miles. Something, we won't be able to offer here.

For me it's not personal against Ange, it's just more derision at how we have royally fucked up yet another manager search.

We should have had an idea about who we wanted in January, now we are looking likely to be ending up with a 4th/5th/6th choice option once again.

Everyday one manager to talk about. Yesterday it was Enrique, today its AP.

I see Ange as a gamble. I am not doubting his ability as coach....just feel the bar is too high. If he comes in, he needs to be getting the team play well very quickly as I dont think he will be afforded much time by fan base. But at same, if his way clicks, he could cement his place far sooner. So,its a wait & watch with him.

Its good to see Sami Mobkel article mentioning Gallardo as another possibility.

Whoever, please baldy, make a decision soon

You got some statistical evidence to back that up?

Don't know about Ange, but i also wasn't sure about Poch when he came in which confirms to me I know absolutely fuck all about football management and who would be a good fit or not.

I am not in the attractive football or nothing camp, there needs to be balance and Poch's style was that balance, my concern is not the league Ange comes from but people have mentioned the defensive frailty potentially of his system (could well be bolllocks) and in this league that is what kills you, but that being said we conceded a fuck load of goals this season so who knows.

He wouldn’t get a job in the championship.
This is the sort of bollocks post I was referring to in my earlier post.
It's going to add nothing to the managerial discussion and is just pointlessly inflammatory.
What's the point of saying this here?

I wouldn’t bother getting excited about the Gallardo links from that Mail article. Smacks of Mokkbel throwing a name out for the clicks. He knows all the aggregators will be working overdrive and driving people to the article.

People need to wise up about the way these journalists work. It’s much less of a rollercoaster if you stop falling for every single thing they say.

If that's the case then I doubt Levy and co will be reassured in any way to the reaction on Twatter to Ange being the "possible" front runner.

I certainly won't be posting any rubbish from there on here, but lets just say the reaction is very, very negative.

I find Twitter an echo chamber. You see the in large the opinions of those you follow, and very often unfollow those who don't share your views of way of thinking. I try to follow a diverse bunch, but very often it's the noisiest that post the most, and that retweet the most. The moderates have better things to do.

I do follow a diverse group on there but other than a few people are resoundingly negative about this. I have a vain hope that the Club will take notice, but given the shitshow running it I have zero faith.

The thing I'd like to know about Postecoglou is whether he drives his team hard and gets them ultra fit because it's a huge step up from the SPL to the EPL. If he comes in and turns them out as badly as Nuno did we're in trouble straight off the bat. I know he plays entertaining football but it's also been said that Celtic are a mess defensively but don't get tested too much. Those are areas of concern for me, and as I've said previously, we should be chucking the kitchen sink at Nagelsmann anyway.

Seinfeld's genius was that it was literally a show about nothing. This thread certainly has more than that but the number repetitive posts had me thinking. How much time have i spent in this thread?
  • Did a word count on one page of the thread. 2557 words
  • Adjusted it downwards by 20% to account for names, footers, etc. and ignored tweets and embedded articles other than what was captured in the thread. = 2045.6 words
  • Multiplied that by 1447 pages = 2.96 M Words
  • Divided that by the average reading speed - 238 words per minute = 12.4k minutes to read the entire thread
  • Divided that by 60 = 207 hours to read the thread
  • Added a +/- factor of 25% = 155 to 259 hours
  • Writing posts was not factored into this calculation.
My hypothesis: Following Spurs is very bad for your personal productivity
