https://www.tottenhamhotspur.com/news/2019/july/introducing-our-new-and-improved-match-ticket-sales-process-for-20192020/

The club have announced a new ticketing system. The biggest change is that multiple matches will now go on sale at the same time to reduce the amount of time members have to spend buying them. So they're still sold in individually rather than in package, but e.g. the first three home matches all go on sale on the 15th of July.

They've also clarified that the number of tickets available in the "Plus" exclusive window will be in line with the proportion of members on the Plus scheme - currently about 65%. One fixture has been removed from each of Cats A and C and moved to B, Ticketmaster have promised improvements to the queueing system later this year, and price maps have been published but from a brief glance appear to be the same as last seasons.

I would say it can’t be worse than the last system, but hey I’m sure if they try really hard they can make it worse

One major downside I can see is that if you miss out on a sale windows - you're busy and have nobody to do it for you, can't get through the online queue or simply forget - then you've missed up to three matches and aren't gonna see Spurs for a couple of months.

Or like me, can't book hotel or trains until the tv picks are confirmed, but have to buy tickets way in advance. If games are moved to a Sunday afternoon we cannot make it as my son is at school monday morning so it's a risk.

You can get a refund on tickets at any point up until 7 days before the match.

not sure how the doughnut of death is going to cope. your have people wanting to buy all 3, then those only wanting to go to 1 or 2 of the matches.

@Hullspur that's the TV companies that decide fixture dates. I think the dates for TV fixtures will be known by time the tickets go on sale, might even be announced tomorrow

So at whatever time the tickets go on sale, you'll now have tripple the amount of tickets being bought at the same time? Isn't that just going to cause even more bottlenecks for the system?

Does this have any implications for the OH vs OH+ membership options?

Yeah honestly think who has thought of this BS idea. Even more traffic on the page and while you can be fast for one game you need to start later for the next...

Sounds like quite a lot more tickets for the OH+ window than before, so much more important to sign up to it. The second day will feature probably about the same number of people (everyone who'd tried the previous day, plus OH members who want tickets, minus OH+ members who successfuly purchased them) fighting over half the number of seats.

Tickemaster's 'new and improved online queing system' is really going to have to be a massive upgrade to cope with 3 times the amount of applications.
hmmm

With the Hotspur + membership, how does it work with regard to buying more than 1 ticket? Can you get tickets for someone else who has a membership but is not in the queue?

Yes, but they need to be + members too if it's on the plus-only sale day, and you need to have added them to your network beforehand.

7 ticket windows as opposed to 19. Sounds much better and quicker. What could possibly go wrong!

If you were planning to buy tickets for every game individually anyway and are fortunate enough to be able to just drop nearly 200 quid at a time then this is probably an improvement (provided the system can cope with tripple the number of purchases at once). But I'm not sure that's really the case for most people, therefore I can't help but think this doesn't really help the fans at all, but is more a admin cost-cutting exercise for the club, none of the savings of which will be passed onto the fans I'm sure.

everything:cautious:

some people might not be in a position to buy 3 tickets at the same time:(

You don’t have to buy tickets to all 3 games if that’s the window your applying in but I was being sarcastic

From the outside it seems a bloody stupid idea. Like one of those Tory efficiency saving ideas that always works out well!!!

Surely you do though. In the previous system, if you wanted to go to all 3 games, the tickets went on sale a few weeks apart, so you only had to come up with the funds for one game at a time, and you had a couple of weeks to get the money together for the next ticket etc. However, in the new system, unless I've misunderstood, all 3 games go on sale at the same time, so although you don't have to buy a ticket for all 3, you can't really wait to buy the other 2 for a couple of weeks because in the meantime they'll more than likely have been bought by someone else. Obviously you don't have to buy a ticket for all 3 at once, but realistically, if you want to go to all 3 then you either need to get them all at once or you risk missing out. Therefore in practical terms it will be very difficult to spread the cost out.

Talking of the ticket system, is there anywhere we can get the on-sale dates on our calendars? Have worked out how to do it for fixtures but doesn't seem to be an option for ticket sale dates even though I remember that being an option in previous seasons?
