Assuming it's all in traywork, the majority should be simple & fairly quick, just a lot of labour involved as they will have to rewire the loop, test the cabling, & then connect each device on the loop, then move onto the next loop. The unknown is how much they'll have to disrupt to access the cables, ie cutting through ceilings, drilling through things that need to be resealed after etc.Let's say all the cabling is wrong - and I agree it sounds preposterously far fetched and barely believable that from the number of people required to fit it, nobody would've noticed that everyone had the wrong cables - how long can it realistically take to rewire it?
As I don't know the building well enough there's no way I could say exactly how long it'd take, but it'll take significantly less time than a similarly sized building due to there being a massive space in the centre, & lots of wide open concourses which reduces the number of detectors required overall (assuming they've fitted point smoke detection in these areas).
