Names for the 4 stands in new stadium?

Has anyone suggested the 'Archway Stand' yet?

On a serious note I would steer clear of naming stands after old players/managers, with the exception of Bill Nic. There will hopefully be scope for other tributes to our former heros around the ground and surrounding area.

On a related note....do you think we will replicate Arsenal and play in a traditional shirt for our last season at the current ground?

I don't mind a player/managers name on one stand but not them all.

Definitely want a strong stand name for the home fans (Kop, Stretford End etc)

I really don't like the "sponsor" approach but I guess you can't have it both ways. If the alternative to having our stadium named something corporate is giving them a stand I would happily do that.

I'm not a fan of naming stands after individual players. Our great players can be recognised in other ways and I'm hopeful that the club will commission a number of statues around the new stadium for that very purpose.

I much prefer it when stands are named after the street they're on or near (e.g. Park Lane) or a prominent feature (e.g. Shelf side).

IMO, the only person who warrants a stand in his name is Bill Nicholson.

Agree with this geographic naming convention. Nobody is bigger than nor will last as long as Spurs, not even the icon you mention. Let's not make it about individuals.

Just for fun, what would you name the 4 stands of the new stadium?

I would name them all the names of our 4 best ever players. And that would be:-

1. Glenn Hoddle Stand
2. Dave Mackay Stand
3. Jimmy Greaves Stand
4. Danny Blanchflower Stand

Maybe name some VVIP rooms based on our 2 top managers as well, Arthur Rowe and Bill nick.

I would have the approach to the main stadium entrance named Bill Nicholson Way.

If we get the single tier stand at south end, and we ourselves call it 'the Wall', as someone previously suggested, we could chant "we are the wall, we are the wall, we are we are, we are the wall' as in 'we are the mods', etc from Quadrophenia.

There's your choices. Although I always thought the orange/brown one was yellow/brown- either way, not the one you'd want.
Also puts paid to the "never red" thing, which is going to shock a couple of people.
