Just for fun, what would you name the 4 stands of the new stadium?

I would name them all the names of our 4 best ever players. And that would be:-

1. Glenn Hoddle Stand
2. Dave Mackay Stand
3. Jimmy Greaves Stand
4. Danny Blanchflower Stand

Maybe name some VVIP rooms based on our 2 top managers as well, Arthur Rowe and Bill nick.

I'm not a fan of naming stands after individual players. Our great players can be recognised in other ways and I'm hopeful that the club will commission a number of statues around the new stadium for that very purpose.

I much prefer it when stands are named after the street they're on or near (e.g. Park Lane) or a prominent feature (e.g. Shelf side).

IMO, the only person who warrants a stand in his name is Bill Nicholson.

Arthur Rowe stand
Bill Nicholson Stand
Jimmy Greaves Stand (Record goalscorer)
Steve Perryman Stand (Record app)

But also agree with original poster's suggestion. So many great players to choose from - Ron Burgess, Jimmy Dimmock and others from the club's earliest days

It will be a shame that when we move we lose something that (I feel) is unique to us, our fans singing to each other. Neutral friends who i have taken to sit in Park lane always comment on it and think it's great. "We're the Greavesy, we're the Greavesy Tottenham" "we're the Steve P, we're the Steve P Tottenham"
Just doesnt have the same ring to it

I'd have a Bill Nicholson stand.

Other than that though I would like to keep 'Park Lane' etc (despite the geographical discrepancy)

Honour people with statues, and that way we can also add to them if any players replicate their greatness.

Proper protocol is that you should only name things after people who are dead (sorry Glenn, Steve and Jimmy, though long may that remain the case)

Nicholson End
Rowe End
Mackay Side
Blanchflower Side

Whatever we want you know they will be named after corporate companies, if the thing ever gets built

Thing about naming stands is that whilst there is still a shred of the old guard supporter left, we'll do what we always do; The stands will be called by geographical names (Paxton/Park Lane/East/West as it is now), but they will be named something different, possibly sponsored individually or named after legends & whatnot, but they will be known by whatever we decide to call them as fans.

No harm in keeping Paxton/Park Lane/East/West.
could just be tinkered with to reflect some of the sponsorship partners such as;

The Carlsberg Paxton Stand
The MBNA Park Lane
The Marathon Bet West Stand
The EA Sports east Stand

etc etc. This would keep the traditional names in place but also reflect the wads of dosh sponsors will splash out.

I wonder if they'll install a Sainsburys Local in each stand.

The £3 lunch deal is cracking!

I don't really like it when stands are named after players. Like others have said, Bill Nic should be the only person we name a stand after, for what he did to transform our club.
