Again, what has what others have done got to do with who we've played?
I wont say anymore on the subject. I'll let you all convince yourselves we had a hard run. Or not had a hard run because we deserved not to and others lost so that somehow means we have lol.
It has nothing to do with having a hard run. Iran-USA-Wales-Senegal is a path that contains four nations that were all top 20 in the world rankings (whatever you think of them) before the tournament started. England have won three from four which in a tournament format such as this is good enough.

You can say England were lucky to not draw Denmark or Germany but how well have those teams done again? Both lost to what most assumed were inferior sides.

I don't understand, but was the ref from the game yesterday Portuguese?

I think he was referring to the fact that Portugal doesn't have a referee at this tournament. But that's because they currently only have one referee and UEFA's Elite category and he is generally viewed in the bottom half of that group of 30.

The argument they're kind of making is that this was a European tempo game and a non-European ref wasn't up to the task of following it because they don't have elite CL experience.

But this ref has done multiple Boca v River games. Doesn't get much hotter a contest than that.

He may possibly have got the penalty call at the end of the first half wrong, but I understand why VAR didn't intervene there.

Are the Portuguese seriously complaining about the refereeing? Watched the whole game and I can't rember the referee getting anything majorly wrong.

Sore, ugly losers.

I am Egyptian (hence my Morocco remark) but supporting England given I was born and raised here but yeah id rather face Morocco (having said that if they have beaten Spain and Portugal - theyre not gonna be easy).

To be honest - any one in the Semis would be tough... its the Semis.

There's a bunch of politics behind the scenes when it comes to the referee committee that I will not go into because no one on here cares about that. But it does seem more and more likely that the final three matches that matter will probably be UEFA referees. I suspect before Morocco won that the American was going to get assigned to Argentina Croatia, but he was born in Morocco and I just don't think they're going to assign him now.

If England wins today I suspect the French ref will get the final and if not it will be the Polish one.
