Cant see him wanting to come here to sit on the bench and maybe get a game every now and then.

Spursking was clearly joking.

What's Diame's best attribute?

Diame for £3.5m and Hudd/Livermoore to go there on loan might be worth doing. Anyone got Levy's number?

Arsenal remain in pole position to sign West Ham midfielder Mohamed Diame – despite competition from Tottenham.
The Senegalese international has a £3.5million buy-out clause in his contract and, although he has stated his desire to stay at Upton Park, there continues to be widespread speculation about his future.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has spoken recently of his admiration for the 25-year-old, and it was expected he would follow up his interest with a firm bid.
The Frenchman is yet to do that, however, and that has opened the door for Spurs to enter the race for his signature.
But talkSPORT has been told Arsenal are ready to press ahead in their pursuit of the former Wigan man and that they are still firm favourites to land him.

BBC says we are willing to meet Diame's release clause of supposedly £3.5M... Anyone know if this release clause amount is true? Usually believe BBC but they have come out with some b'lox recently!!?

His best attribute is the ability to twist his neck 90 degrees in order to watch the ball continually pass over his head.

I would of thought you would of been delighted Wheeler - more likely to see your boy Livermore off....which you've been gagging for  :)

Far from pointless for me if Parker or Dembele got injured - which wouldn;t surprise me at all.

Where's the risk? Hell we could sell him on for a profit in the summer if needed be. Even from the point of view of just an investment its worth it, not to mention he could be a valuable squad member with all the games we've got coming up.

I believe this lad was discussed some time ago MrP?

I rate him highly - needs AVB to hone his team skills though.

Not so worried about Livermore these days as I'm quite happy seeing him as an unused substitute... I might start worrying if anything happen to Parker though!

At 3.5 its the sort of bargain we have no business missing out on. We all saw how dire we were when dembele was out earlier on in the season and he'd be the perfect understudy for him. Our squad has to be improved if we're going to challenge the big boys anytime in the forseeable future. Petriopa/kalaba would be a great signings to to deputise for our wide players. Get in a no10(ie ramirez), a striker and we'd have a great side going into next season.

I wouldnt mind Diame in this window with Hudd leaving and Livermore on loan. Then Holtby to come in the summer and Possibly Parker and Dempsey leaving, then buying or promoting some promising youth for the fringe positions unless we want to try for Moutinho again:rolleyes:

I think we'll sign Moutinho. But not till he's 65. Still, class is permanent. Isn't it?

The thing is its obvious we're not going to make any major moves this window, so exploiting a release clause like this would be perfect business.

He'd certainly be a squad upgrade from what I've seen and we could shift the likes of Jenas, Hudd, Livermore and make a profit on the trade off.

He wouldn't be first choice ahead of Sandro or Dembele, probably Parker would be ahead of him too but he would be a solid investment who increases our strength in the middle of the park.

Shame Chelsea wanted Ba too because he would have been another such deal that would have been perfect for us this window.

Always thought this guy was by far one of the best DMs in the EPL and up until we signed Sandro/Scotty I was really pushing for this move...Now that we are missing one for a while, what a fucking signing this would be.

3.5M for this guy, normal wages. Maybe send Jake on loan as part of the deal. Can easily sell him on for 10M+, he would shine in our team. Wigan are shit without him, West Ham are shit when he doesn't play.

Class fucking player.

get rid of Livermore, and Huddlestone. Sign Diame and we'd have a midfield of Dembele, parker, sandro, diame, carrol. IMO that be more than enough to compete with anyone in that position. Easy home games we could play Dembele and Diame. Reckon we'd run over those teams with those lads there.
