He is turning into the new scapegoat. He has been no worse than anyone else in the last 2 games, but realistically he is no where near good enough to be replacing Dembele. We need someone to compete with Dembele and Dier, and he will never be at that level unfortunately.

Very unfair to the boy, his season has been ravaged by injury and he was unable to get back up to speed.

I have to say though his whole career has been blighted by injury problems so I would sell him on.

Have to say I don't understand what people see in him and never have. A couple of good games he's mustered.

People can say "oh well he's been playing whilst still injured", but thats just another reason to get rid of him imo. He's injured pretty much all the time, thats no good to us.

I missed the team sheet because I watched on delay, and in the 28th minute I was honestly still wondering who was playing CM next to Dier. I thought maybe Eriksen had dropped deep and we were playing someone like Chadli in the top three? It took a further three minutes until Mason managed a touch significant enough for the commentators to call his name.

Sorry Ryan, you've got heart and talent but you're just not the quality of player we need now.

I'd have to agree with the general consensus here and say that Mason is just got good enough. I used to think that he was a great squad player to have in the squad, and that may have been true when you're a 5th/6th/7th placed side in the Europa league playing against the likes of Tiraspol, but not for a side who has broken into the top 4 and needs to strengthen for the upcoming season so that they can have a respectful go at the CL and try to remain in the top 4.

It's a shame to see him go, much like with Townsend, as they're both Spurs boys. However, the team comes first. Carroll isn't quite the right stuff either, and Bentleb has gone AWOL. Not sure if he'll be back. Not sure if there are academy kids that can take their place or whether we need to shop around.
