'Obviously there are places where I would not want to go. Tottenham? Let's reject that. I would be sorry to leave Roma, also because I have just renewed my contract.'

He said that in 2009, and I can understand his sentiments, but to actually say it to the press is fucking insulting and classless. If I was a footballer and a club I thought were below me made an offer I would never insult them, and their fans, in the press. If I was directly asked said club I would just be coy, and eulogise about my present club

Link is here.

Ps this could be one of those lost in translation things, but I'm assuming it's not, and I don't really see how it can be.

Is this guy better than the best Montenegrin of all time, a man who totally mastered the football while at his feet, and one of my all time favourite footballers....Step forward Dejan Savićević.

Doubt there will ever be a better Montenegrian  It sometimes just needs a small dribble from any player today for my old man to start talking again of Savicevic and Prosinecki in the same Red Star Belgrade team... Seems like he loved those times

I'm not surprised those were great times. I remember seeing him against Monaco, I think, on Milan's run to the Champs league in 94, absolutely amazing. Then the final against Barca, pure genius.

what is your 2011 list?

My 2011 list hasn't got anyone on it yet :).

My 2010 list however was (in no particular order) -

Vaclav Kadlec
Yaya Sanogo
Anthony Lozano
Georgiano Wijnaldum
Maxym Koval
Gabriel Torje
Davide Santon
Kyriakos Papadopoulous
Takashi Usami
Rodrigo Mejido

Not exactly household names and most of them never will be but I pick mostly from watching youth football or obscure leagues on ESPN or Eurosport. The fun is when you spot a player before most people who then goes on to be a real star.

I got quite excited when Anthony Lozano was supposedly signing for us last summer but I haven't heard anything since so presumably it didn't happen .

I've never played Football Manager. I had Championship Manager about 10 years ago but my wife banned me from playing it . I guess Football Manager must have moved on a long way since then if it has all of those players on it Eek.
