Just a thought. Rather than being overshadowed by the Champions League Final perhaps it would be an ideal opportunity to announce our new Manager on the day that hundreds of million of people will be glued to their telebox watching football. Its a given that should we announce it pundits on both ITV & SKY, as well as global broadcasters, will talk about the appointment, therefore getting the club free unprecedented worldwide media coverage.

A type of Levy Special.

I think we should keep as low a profile as possible until the season starts. The bigger the announcement, the bigger the egg on our face.

I'd rather we just appoint the right guy.

If Real Madrid lose then maybe we can move for Ancelotti.

Be stupid to appoint someone just for the timing. Especially for media exposure which wouldn't really help anyway.

Anyone else (after first reading the headline) think this was about a press-PR company called 'Maximum Media Exposure' who would today finally announce the new Spurs manager to expectant fans after so much speculation, on the clubs behalf?

I thought that vodka tasted awfully like a hangover last night. :(

Maybe we'll announce Ancelotti just after Real Madrid lose the Champions League final. How funny would that be? On the same night after the game they announce Real Madrid have sacked Ancelotti and then minutes later Spurs have signed Ancelotti.

I really don't take these Ancelotti stories seriously. As if he has been secretly negotiating with Levy while building up for today's final. Let's suppose Real lose today. They are stupid enough to fire Ancelotti on Monday . There will be a huge compensation deal then negotiated which might take weeks to agree. I don't see Ancelotti taking another job until that is agreed and even then he would be an attractive option for clubs all across Europe . Armed with a lot of money he won't jump at the first job offered especially from a much smaller club. The other rumour that I heard today that if Real win then Levy will go for Simeone is even more ridiculous.

Sorry to keep plugging this but Rudi Garcia is potentially more attainable and would be a great choice.

Levy:- We are proud to announce the appointment of Ancelotti….. Oh, wait…. He's just won the Champions League and, what? Real want to Keep him?! FFS.

3 days later,

Levy:- We are proud to announce FDB as our new manager….. oh wait…. He wanted to be first choice?! He's got the hump and is not coming anymore? FFS.

3 days later,

Levy:- We are proud to announce Pochettino as our new manger…. oh, wait…. He what? Wanted to be first choice? Not coming? FFS.

3 days later:-

Levy:- We are, erm, well, happy? To announce (enter hopeless name) as the new manager. FFS.

The real question is, is Ancelotti ready to make the step up to Spurs?
