What a load of rubbish...goals and assists??? He's a defender ffs.

Don't get me wrong, I know what you mean, but yeah, I think when you're talking about £50m for a RB it's fair enough to ask what sort of attacking stats he brings to the game. We're talking about figures which would eventually make him the most expensive RB in the world! Goals and Assists are what make the best, the best, in todays game.

Goals certainly aren't, assists maybe.

Also people need to get over the 50mil thing, It isn't 50mil as any of us know it. Every transfer nowadays breaks some kind of record (most for a right back blah blah). He's homegrown, young and a bloody good defender....if he was great going forward as well, he would cost closer to 100mil.

Just develop and play KWP.

There is nothing I have seen in AWB that shows he has more ability than Kyle, technique wise I think Kyle is better just doesn’t have size, just hoping he'll fill out.

Crystal Palace only scored 51 goals all season. How many assists do you expect the RB of that team to have?

It’s not that hard. I can easily gain half a stone over a long weekend and that’s with a number of three-flush dumps

Gonna be a fantastic player but no way we are the club that can spend £50m on a right back.

....but we can spend 42 m on a center back two years ago?

In this market, I think 50m is more value for money then what we spendt on DS

On a serious note. Does anyone really expect us to go head to head with United in trying to sign this guy and for us not to come off second best? Whatever we offer United will offer more. Bigger transfer fee, higher financial incentives, greater prestige. If United want him, it’s over for us.

Eriksen flat out rejected Man Utd this week.

Independent said last week that Utd fancied Ndombele but felt we were favourites to sign him.

History suggests you are right but times are changing, and Utd seem to be trying to be less reckless after being burnt badly by Pogba and Sanchez.

Didn’t we beat Chelsea to Aurier & Llorente? Don’t know why we couldn’t compete with a United team who seem to be a complete mess right now.

Those days are over for the time being. No CL, team in turmoil, questionable manager... the club is quite toxic, especially for a young player like AWB.

This and the fact we spent £40m on a young CB in the same window (and then beat other top clubs to Moura on a knock down deal in Jan) seems to have been forgotten because of last year. The tide was already turning.

I genuinely think if £50m is the magic number for AWB we should be on it. You'll get 10+ years out of him and the salary demands shouldn't be crazy. We're hoping to recoup around half on Trippier alone.

You'd have to think he'd consider us strongly compared to Utd this summer.

United are a pretty tough sell right now. OGS has to be going into this season on some unsteady footing, they've got a squad with quite a few overpaid under-performers, and outside of being able to offer a lot of money and the United name, that's really all they have at this point in time.

It is but we still won't do it. CB is a much more vital position than RB.
I agree that we won't do it, but disagree that CB is a more vital position than full back these days. I'd say full backs are equally as important. Look at Liverpool and of course Van Dijk is massive for them, but so are their full backs. Their main creators are their left back and right back.

I do. Champions league vs non. A manager who has proven to make fullbacks world class over Ole.

I think the point is that if Man United go balls deep for AWB it will price us out of the market - whatever the relative prospects and attractions both clubs might represent to the player. Palace don't have to sell after all.

We can offer him football on Tuesday nights, something Manure can’t. we can also give him the opportunity to work under a manager that during his time at the club has helped 3 fullbacks become England regulars. Not to mention he’ll have more competition at United with Dalot being highly rated over there. Not saying United can’t offer him more financially, but there’s certainly some merit for a move to Spurs for him.

If he has England ambitions, I think it’s pretty well known that Southgate takes a pretty strong interest in our players and those who are performing at the highest level (CL)

Whilst I would favour us over United in certain cases it does appear they are running around jacking up the prices with their silly money offers.

No player care about prestige. They want to go to teams that they can improve or win at. I’d say that there are 3 pl teams that players really want to go to atm. That’s city, Liverpool and us
