Then why haven’t we brought in any player that didn’t directly correlate to a player in their position also leaving?

Ally Gold stated it this morning that’s what’s going on. We need to get players out before we can bring any in.

What does that have to do with budget? Eh?

As for AG's article - please see what I've already said to you on that.

Well if we had the excess budget for another midfielder I'm sure we would have brought one in... or a striker... or a RB. I really don't feel like this is rocket science.

No shit we aren't going to tell people we have a load of cash.. I don't see how that matters at all with what I'm saying.

Folks save the anger for the first of September. I have spare pitchforks going for a great price of 12.99 each if needed.

Seriously we will always go to deadline day so we're best off waiting and seeing until then.

Yes but having two decent players for one position is essential and Doherty and Aurier are both not good enough for various reasons.

Anyway Tanganga had one good game, let's not get carried away and think he is the answer to our RB position for the whole season.
Aurier is good enough as a back up it's just we could do with his transfer money to reinvest instead of his contract running down.

Can’t lie the club currently feels an absolute shambles. Star player virtually on strike in limbo, most expensive signing wants out, dead wood still piled up. Hopefully some order will be restored by time window closes. Not blaming Paratici he’s inherited a mess and I’m happy with 3 he’s brought in. But I dread to think what current mood would be like had City thumped us. Thank goodness they didn’t.

IMO it looks like its quiet because we have to resolve Kane's situation first. 2 different size budgets. Why buy Player A for 20mil now when we could buy a better more expensive player IF Kane leaves. Next week will probably be busy with the supposed Kane deadline of Aug 23rd. This gives us a week to either spend the Kane money or the tighter budget. It seems like Paratici lines up players and will be ready to pull the trigger depending on the situation at the time

The players linked have got progressively less inspiring as time has gone on (in terms of immediate improvement to the starting 11)

I'm definitely at the concerned stage. It's been a while since an informative ITK update as well which (through absolutely no fault of their own of course) doesn't help.

i politely disagree,

Barcelona are in “shambles”

We are in a re-build which a part of a strategy. I would say that for the first time in 8 months we finally see some actions from the club. First step was ovbiously to get Paratici in, then the manager and now we are during the squad re-build. It’s surely going to take some time to see the end result, but you can’t deny that there is a clear path?

No but it is based on completely ignoring the fact that all clubs are posturing, and that all of the information we've had is that the activity is going to be towards deadline day.

You don't spend £80m just because you fucking have it. Especially if you can spend £60m two weeks later. Or do you, Mr Ridsdale?

Exactly so he was giving a limited budget... and told that players like Tomiyasu can't come in until Aurier goes out. So the way we operate hasn't changed.

Okay so we don’t really disagree then, but a “limited” budget is different from being told how you can spend your budget. Levy maybe gave a smaller purse but he (apparently) isn’t deciding how it’s spent.

Bloody hell-so much negativity around.

Did I miss that the transfer window had shut?

Didn’t think so?

Anyone getting the sense with the two cheap(er) signings we’ve suddenly been linked to today that the Kane deadline has passed without a City bid and Paratici is moving on the secondary targets off his list?

Did we really expect otherwise? Linked with quality players, sign dog shit.

I suspect that the price inflation of the primary targets played a part in all of this too. The Dusan numbers i remember were 60-80m and that seemed a bit rich. Now the president says he would consider it for 100m.

Personally think the “soft” deadline may be past, but if we reach the real point-of-no-return there will be a media blitz, the club will want the resolution known as soon as possible.
