can't wait for the excuses to roll in after the latest pathetic display.
Could be an interesting idea although we absolutely need to be signing a top class striker like Isak level this summer as when Richy is injured and son is against a low block we look toothless.I wonder if ange would consider putting son back on the left, Johnson right and playing Maddison as a false 9 striker in the firminho type role and then gio/Kulu in midfield. I think that could be an interesting line up that might suit us.
1) Had loads of injuries and players only come back can't be expected to be in form, not his faultcan't wait for the excuses to roll in after the latest pathetic display.
Well I think simply we push so many so far and high up there is just a huge space in the middle and behind our defence so it looks like we have no midfield at times on transition as the tactics are very gung ho.With the full backs pushed up and tucked in, and Son dropping deeper, we often have an 8 man midfield.
Yet, when the opposition has the ball, it's like we have a 0 man midfield that parts like the red sea.
Can anyone more tactically astute explain why this keeps happening?
Irregardless, this is not acceptable when we're going for more than 4th, according to Ange.He never brings out excuses, that's not his style.
Newcastle are good a example though of letting Ange work through this patch. For a good portion of the season around Xmas and until a few weeks ago, Newcastle were rotten and Howe's neck was on the block but he's worked through it and they're on the up again.
So what do you suggest? Change the system? Get rid of the manager? He has to stick to his principles and not paper over cracks. He needs different players and this run is exposing where we need them.Irregardless, this is not acceptable when we're going for more than 4th, according to Ange.
The same set of players was unbeaten in 8 games earlier on in the season. So what do you suggest? Change the system? Get rid of the manager? He has to stick to his principles and not paper over cracks. He needs different players and this run is exposing where we need them.
There aren't many tweaks to make, we don't have the kind of DM or striker the system requiresThe same set of players was unbeaten in 8 games earlier on in the season.
But the system has been worked out and defensively we have gotten worse as the season has worn on. We have 1 clean sheet in 13 games and concede goals for fun.
I'm not saying change the system or paper over the cracks, but make some tweaks to it. We are so naive and the football lately hasn't even been good to watch.
Case in point if we don't have the players for the system then do something different. There aren't many tweaks to make, we don't have the kind of DM or striker the system requires
I suppose Ange would say his tactics have brought him success by doing the same thing over and over again across different leagues and countries'Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. '
That's not how Klopp, Guardiola or for that matter Atreta built their teams. They were uncompromising about their systemCase in point if we don't have the players for the system then do something different.
We are conceding ridiculous goals every week.
Long term that’s not the right approach. System first players 2nd.Case in point if we don't have the players for the system then do something different.

That's fine but Klopp and Pep constantly tweak their systems too. They've both changed it up in the last 2 seasons alone.Long term that’s not the right approach. System first players 2nd.
See Klopp, Pep etc.
Ange doesn’t have to change philosophy, he just needs to coach better. He has to drill positional phases of play into these players. The fact we repeat the same mistakes is becoming unacceptable.
It's far deeper than that. We're embarrassingly easy to set up against. A tactically competent manager and a group of good-enough players can completely nullify us.He’s simply not getting the best out our players atm. Too many in poor form at the same time
