What an unbelievable interview. You don’t hear this sort of class and common sense from (m)any other managers. I didn’t want this guy, I was absolutely wrong. He’s exactly who I want coaching our club.
I didn’t want him either. Wanted Naglesman. How wrong I was. He’s exactly what we need in this moment. Can’t believe I’m saying this, but levy got it right by sticking to his guns with this appointment. Now just back the man please.

We used to never evaluate offside based on centimetres. With VAR, linesmen have essentially been made redundant. People keep saying that VAR will never go away now that it's here, but I'm not so sure. These long interruptions and reviews of nearly every goal are separating the professional game from what people play in a park. And this weekend we have reviews of three incidents within a 5-10 second sequence of play. And the screen show is now a major part of the fan experience at a stadium with constant delays and uncertainty about whether to celebrate an goal. All for the worse I reckon.

I think there is a small possibility that a lot of this gets wound back down to just goal line tech and maybe some automated and faultless offside tech that can be based on the sensor on the backs of players' shirts. The rest is up to the ref and I think most of us would prefer real-time decisions and just getting on with things.
How accurate is var anyways? For the Son disallowed goal, they looked at it from one angle first, which looked like it was onside, before switching to an alternate view camera, which then looked offside. Where they just trying to vindicate the linesman’s decision? Are the cameras position foolproof? Wouldn’t the different angles/positioning of the cam introduce inconsistencies? There has to be a margin of error built in at least? Can’t be absolute if the cams aren’t perfectly positioned at all times, in line with the changing plays?

4-1 down in the eighth minute of injury time, and he has Sonny running full tilt to close their keeper down.

how he has go his message across, and the buy-in from the players is a miracle.

all of a sudden changing tactics and mindset because of circumstances was not an option for Ange. that's how you get players to believe. what a manager we've got here.

as others have said. I was sceptical at his appointment, didn't particularly want him, but now i would rather have nobody else.

Exactly there has to be a margin of error built in with the benefit of the doubt going to the attacker.

In the 90s they changed it so level was onside as we wanted more goals now it seems they're finding ways to disallow them.

That was an amazing team goal disallowed for the finest of margins which didn't give any advantage to the attacker. They then counter that by finding reasons to give the softest of penalties like the Son foul at Brentford

I’m stood in line for a red eye on 2 hours sleep dosed up on painkillers. Took a half day from work yesterday and will be back at my desk at 9 today. Usually I’d be raging Id bothered especially losing to those pricks.

Don’t feel an ounce of regret. Yeah I’m pissed we lost but proud of how we kept swinging, proud of how the crowd stuck 100% behind the players to the end and beyond and having seen Ange’s interview this morning, I’m ready to tackle the day and am convinced he’s the man for us.

Will he win trophies? Fuck knows. But football is about more than that and this fella embodies everything I want our club to be.

The next two months are going to be tough with the suspensions and injuries... but it was always going to happen at some point... the important thing now is to stay positive and brave. Believe in what Ange and the boys are doing... it's going to get bumpy. But we have to keep going. Keep building... it's the only way we are going to change our mentality and fortunes at this club...

You lose games two out of three times when you have one player sent off; two sent off and you're almost certainly going to lose. That performance (and the fan reaction to it) showed that we’re building something to last beyond this game. We did the “sit back everyone” against Chelsea about four times in 2021, and got nothing for it - no points, no pride, nothing to build on. It’s easy to have principles when things are going well.

Will the next few weeks be tough? You’d assume, but we all thought this would take a long time to adapt. What we can have confidence in that the team, for the first time since the opposite number yesterday was there, are a collective that believes in what it’s trying to do and will fight for each other.

Last night convinced me even more that we are going to successful under Ange. We need to give this guy anything he needs/wants.

Give this man the squad and we will win trophies, it’s as simple as that.

this is nice. It’s great to have the club managed by a man of integrity and class, a real grown up, in contrast with Arteta and Klopp in particular.

There is a downside to all of this though - in those tight marginal decisions, does a ref make a call against us because he knows Ange wont crucify him in the press for a week like some others. Given my low opinion of many though not all refs, you can’t rule it out.

This then is the (potential) cost of being an honest man, a man of integrity, i suppose.

If taking a stand on one’s principles were cost free, more people would do it

He has a massive job on his hands. We had a real chance last night to put in a statement performance and get a great win and while it started so well we completely blew up and we are the reason we lost not because Chelsea beat us, we beat ourselves.
We have seen this so many times were we are potentially on course to really progress but we end up sabotaging ourselves.
Still absolutely fluming at our lack of leadership on the pitch, we need to correct that in 2 windows, our 3 captains were incapable last night of stopping it and in Romero's case he was the reason we lost.

Felt his first mistake of the season was not hooking Udogie at half-time.

He should have been sent off in the first 20 minutes, so everyone knew that he was going to walk on his next bad challenge.

I thought that at first then remembered we had already made three subs. We only had two left. I can understand it, plus Udogie has gone through games on a booking previously. So he may have thought Udogie was capable of keeping his head and getting through it.

I'd thought about this, and then on the other side of the coin, the ref might be more inclined to go the other way because of how Ange speaks about them too.

I think he needs to instil discipline. You don't get anywhere with hot heads in your team. If they don't meet the standard then ship them out. Thats three games Romero is out for. That's screwed us for 9 points. He should not have played Udogie. Looked like he was struggling and the fouls were his way of coping with the physicality. We have so many posts talking about how plucky we were. We had our noses rubbed in it lads. We were fucked over in our own manor. That is unforgiveable. There was nothing positive to take away from this game. The one game where you would not want that to happen and allow those blue ****s to have bragging rights. I am still pissed off.

Plus Pochettino of all people. The manager that was giving all those weird mixed messages before the Champions League final. I never got over that. I thought he set us up for failure. Personally was not at all sad to see him go after some shocking purchases. Ndombele anyone? Hate the fact that **** beat us 4-1. He is dead to me.

This man

I know im being a bit hyperbolic but he’s not just changing how I feel about Spurs, but life in general. Stick to who we are, there will be bumps in the road, mate, but stick true and the future will be bright. What a man
