Wish him the absolute best of luck trying to teach Dier, Emerson, Hojbjerg etc to play his way over the course of an international break. I can forgive losing, I guess, but I genuinely don't think these guys are capable of playing the way he wants them to. He was going mad on the touchline today as they played Conteball, but its the only way they know how to play. Unstoppable force vs immoveable object type of thing here.

Too many ordinary players in the team today and Ange wasn't brave enough with a couple of selections.

Also worrying that he doesn't seem able to alter the approach at all depending on the circumstances.

Being attack-minded is brilliant and we should go into matches with that mindset.

But we also need to be able to change that approach if the game needs it, as it desperately did today.

Easy to blame the usual suspects, but Ange takes as much of the blame for me today.

He comes across as someone who actually see's these things the fans do as well though so I hope that means he drops some of these players
He has to give youth a chance now and be brave

There's going to be plenty more bumps in the road. Hopefully the fans are ready for it.

There's no way you're STILL blaming Conte when we've seen the same thing under 5 managers now :ROFLMAO:

An awful lot of work to do before we are even close to be able to compete for things. Which to be honest is where we are in the grand scheme of things.

Before the season started no one expected anything more than 5th at best and that’s most likely where we are. Not due to the first 11, but due to the depth in squad and the options to change it. For example, Sonny was dreadful today yet we have nothing and no one available to change the game up a bit.

With Villa and City our next two games we could be in for 4 straight defeats which will leave us 5-7th in the table.

There is still an enormous amount of work to improve that squad.

Dier, Davies and Hojberg shouldn't start again for us and Emerson shouldn't be starting at left back.

Play the youngsters as at least they have a chance of getting better.

Very true and with this style of play we are going to have to take the rough with the smooth, particularly given some of personnel still at the club.

But I hope Ange isn't as inflexible in his approach as Conte...this isn't the Scottish league now.

Ange is hopefully in it for the long haul here. There are players in this team he would never ever have chosen to buy if given the option.

We have a threadbare squad and this will be a very challenging time for him. We will be ok in the long run though.

I don't quite know the changes he was supposed to make with who is available. We can all say this youngster and that youngster but we don't watch them in training to know just how ready they may or may not be. If it was a Conte or Jose you'd say they were just being stubborn but I don't think we can label Ange with that at the moment.

If he reassesses and plays youngsters going forward then fine but I'm gonna trust his judgement on who he deems ready to put straight into the side or not. We all know he doesn't want to have to play Dier and Davies at CB with Royal at LB.

As a fan I will be much more accepting of playing the youngsters and losing than playing the same dross that has let us down Time and again

But ultimately the paper thin squad levy gave to Ange for this season now being exposed in a brutal way

Davies was ok, dier can't defend or run. Hojbjerg still the same dross. Hoping we get some youth in that can run and defend. Gonna be rough till van Der den is back

I think the question is, how less ready can they be than players who have proven they aren't up to it for years now?

I really can't see him changing that much to be fair. He's been pretty clear about that.

I’m not hanging dier and Davies out to dry , they were fine today , they showed some fight , I thought kulu , son , Sarr and bissouma were awful . Today was a fight and they didn’t show any I’m afraid . There was an element of Conte ball today but as a team we need to also be able to kill a game off and the fact we kept hurrying throw ins and goal kicks when we were 1 up showed total naievity and really poor game management. We nearly dropped points at Luton and palace very late on shows today was not a one off . Plenty of work to do and long and painful end to 2023 I’m afraid .

Been clear to me from the start that we are a couple injuries/suspensions away from being in trouble. Today we were without 4 key players in Maddison, Romero, VDV and Udogie and think that would be a major problem for any side when the replacements are either not suited to the system and/or simply not good enough. We are a work in progress and it's going to take a couple of windows to get rid of players who have no future under us and bring in those who are suited to the system and are good enough.

Can understand the argument Ange should maybe should be more pragmatic but I'm convinced when you have players like Dier starting, you'll be in trouble regardless because he is pants at this level.
