So would 8-1 made your day?
Sorry small time mentality
I wanted the cup , nothing else
If we gave it a fucking go I'd feel better about watching us lose like fucking mugs like we do every cup final since our last win. 8-1 or 1-0 the end result is the same. No cup at the end of it.

Ultimately what I can tell you with absolute certainty is if you don't put the ball in the back of the net you don't win shit. So my way of going at them to score a fucking goal had more chance of winning a cup at the end of it than sitting back waiting to get beat. Go 1-0 up and anything can happen. Sitting back at 0-0 is just waiting for defeat.

Rinse and repeat of all our big games. That's the small time mentality, trying not to get beat by too many cause you're not trying to win the game.

I hope you're enjoying your gutless 1-0 loss instead of being proud of the lads trying to get at city.....

This again. Fucking hell.

The whole mentality of this club isn't geared toward winning, it's geared toward 'competing'. That's from the top so it's hardly surprising it filters down. He's happy that we're in with a shout, he's missed more than one opportunity to show he means business and wants to be a winner but no, 'competing' is enough, he's never understood the amount of kudos he'd have gotten if he actually went for it.

"Oh, but he's built a stadium/look where we were when he took over/be careful what you wish for"

The squad has been criminally neglected, we are the only club to ever go two consecutive transfer windows without making a signing. It's resulted in a decline of epic proportions.

"Oh, but he's built a stadium/look where we were when he took over/be careful what you wish for"

He's curls a 12 inch turd out on the chests of the fans and football in general, making us one of the 6 most hated clubs in England while he's at it, nobody wants to deal with him, the EPL are calling for his head, the Supporters are calling for his head and it's blatantly obvious that profit is king with him and ENIC

"Oh, but he's built a stadium/look where we were when he took over/be careful what you wish for"

All of us, pretty much all of us are so down on Spurs at the moment, there's nothing redeeming about us, the hope and joy, the enjoyment of watching us, all of it has been sucked out of us like a brass on crack sucking a pea through a smarties tube, the negativity surrounding us is monumental

"Oh, but he's built a stadium/look where we were when he took over/be careful what you wish for"

God forbid there's complaints because, yep, you guessed it......."Oh, but he's built a stadium/look where we were when he took over/be careful what you wish for"

Every time he gets criticised, one of his disciples crops up with it. Fuck that. Fuck it with a 24 inch dill covered in stinging nettles and ralgex

So did you order your 20/21 Carabou Cup Finalist keyring yet? (yes, I'm serious)

Broke out the old jacket love the bad

outstanding post. we were attempting to win the game 1-0. Give them as little as possible and hope for the break. the problem was that when we attacked it usually ended up 3 on 5 or 4 on 6. we didn't have the horses to win a race. i think we were lucky in that City's talent is so good that they almost snuck a bunch in as compact as we were in the back. the bottom line is that we don't have anyone at this point who can control the midfield. as poor as our defense is, our midfield needs a general. Hojbjerg is good, but he isn't enough. Sabitzer or someone similar could have a massive impact on our fortunes.
No one ever controls the midfield against Man city. First half we were lucky, or probably more correctly, saved by two brilliant blocks. The second half I thought was relatively good, and our much-criticised defence was really good today. You can't win in midfield against Man city. It's not just because the players they have are just so good on the ball, but it's also that everything is memorised everything is instinctive, and that's what happens from years and years of coaching the same players. My main problem today was we made poor decisions on the few times we broke. Even under Poch, the games we get something out of, it was because of being clinical with the chances you're given.

But Man city are ridiculously good, and I feel no shame whatsoever with the performance.

Spurs cannot have Ryan Mason in charge next season. There is talk of Julian Nagelsmann - why on earth would he walk into this mess at Tottenham?
He could get the Bayern Munich job. Spurs are a big club but it looks like there is one hell of a rebuild after the mess that Jose Mourinho has left.
They have all the gear - a brand new stadium - but do they have a team that fits it?
Next thing you're going to tell me is that water is wet - isn't it?

Maybe we are the Harry Kane team after all...if he’s a no show then forget the other 10...just putting it out there... by the way I’m still not convinced but too many players go missing when they have the ability not to...it must be a mental thing...win at all costs......

I don't give a shit about your hypotheticals.
Well I suggest a forum where people discuss things in a reasonable manner probably isn’t for you then. Absolutely no need to be rude because someone dares to disagree with you.

You started with a hypothetical ‘we’d get similar results with any manager’ then responded with another about ‘when we sack the next manager’ so get off your high horse

Mourinho's mistake against Zagreb was thinking that Sissoko, Winks and Alli could at least be trusted to do the job when he needed to rest players and we had a 2-0 lead going into the match. Only Mason would think to play these three ahead of Ndombele in a cup final

Understand the sentiment - but really disagree. We were playing to hit them on the counter. Sonny is the best player we have on the counter. You leave him on, no matter how many times he has fluffed his lines, because it only takes once to make amends.

Bale for Lucas was the right call. (And Lucas starting was the right call also - Bale would not have lasted in a game where most of the energy was spent defending).
After 70mins or so it was very clear he was having one of those days that every player has

he couldn’t even pass a 10yard ball
All his passes were backwards - that’s not what we needed I’m afraid
I’m not saying a change from the start - I agree with your comments there re bales fitness.
Moura was the only player causing them problems - he should not have made way for bale - which only really leaves son.

We will have to agree to disagree

Whenever City win anything it means fuck all to me. Like Barry Bonds being the Home run leader it’s all on the back of doping. Makes zero difference if it’s drugs or money.

It only means something as Spurs lost. The pain today is not as much as it would normally be as this season has left me so numb when it comes to Spurs. It hurts still but the changes needed at that club run so deep that at times it feels insurmountable and therefore futile to invest the emotion I often do.

I want that to change, I want to feel connected and invested again. That will happen over time as Spurs is in my DNA or if we make a great managerial appointment it will be easy to be excited again.

But for today the pain will dwindle and the numbness return at least for a while
