I hope the club gave the fans that paid to go their money back
Honestly so many of you have the emotional intelligence of a toddler.
We just whimped out on a cup final how do you expect people to react?

Even if we had a billion pounds to pump into this team we wouldn't do it because that's not the business model. We buy young talent with the possibility to sell later for a massive profit. Until that changes, we won't win silverware regularly.
But Dortmund and Leipzig( and Leicester to a certain respect)do the same and they are far better teams than us

Damn, that was hard to watch.

It's really unfrotunate but I think the players are not that bothered anymore. Somewhere in the back of their heads they know this squad is at the end of the road and a lot of people are looking to move on. It really showed today. They never thought for a second they could beat city.

it's not the result, it's the performance that was so disapointing.

Levy hired Jose, Jose was a disaster, levy also fired Jose a week before the final and appointed a 29yr old, so how can levy be absolved from any blame lol?

He’s the root fucking cause of everything.

Levy fired Jose, which the majority of this forum wanted. But now we didn't win the final, people are saying we should have kept him?

If we kept Jose and we inevitably lost, people would be saying he should have been sacked etc

It's hypocrisy at the highest.

First time post, very long time lurker! I am actually so disgusted at that performance today I sent an email to club. Main points were no heart again, no trying in the last 5 minutes when losing, and Kane and Hugo deserve so much better, and no more of my money into the club after that miserable week of “European Super League” and paying off Jose just for us to buy the second rate options every season. Also don’t want to see certain players “play” for us again.

Sorry to say pal it eill be unread in their spam

I get the gulf in class, 10 minutes away from extra time was being fortuitous in how we rode our luck. Yeah, beat City’s press, we decide to combat that with a midfield of Winks and Sissoko.
Ok, right. So you're just trying to focus on the players you've decided to hate on. You can't win against city without riding your luck. I repeat 30 wins in 33. bringing on Sissoko may have been a bad move, I actually think bringing on Bale was a bad move as a whole, I wanted to Bale to play but it wasn't the right moment. But you can have a few issues with the game but the performance as a whole was fine. Like it really was, I think the expectation must have been really off or something.

Man City are just a class apart. We can’t even begin to look at our own deficiencies based on the game today, other than to say we need to go out and spend hundreds of millions. From the next game on we just need to start doing the simple things right and build from there. Get to the end of this horrible season and start a new chapter. Whoever is running the team and/or club.

Just gutted right now. The harsh reality of supporting a club that just isn’t competitive just rips to shreds my ability to dream.

We've been here before,

Let's jog on and go again

Massive rebuild now,

Time to get all the dead wood out.
Yeah who is paying for the massive rebuild??? Levy?? Nope ENIC??? Nope so here we go again with another season of shite, levy won’t give a fuck as he will be sat on his yacht counting his pennies

No one ever controls the midfield against Man city. First half we were lucky, or probably more correctly, saved by two brilliant blocks. The second half I thought was relatively good, and our much-criticised defence was really good today. You can't win in midfield against Man city. It's not just because the players they have are just so good on the ball, but it's also that everything is memorised everything is instinctive, and that's what happens from years and years of coaching the same players. My main problem today was we made poor decisions on the few times we broke. Even under Poch, the games we get something out of, it was because of being clinical with the chances you're given.

But Man city are ridiculously good, and I feel no shame whatsoever with the performance.

Agreed and the point wasn't that we could/would dominate them. Let's put it another way. If there was a Dembele or Luka in midfield who could hold the ball and pull a few strings, their presence with the ball creates some time/space for others. While MC would still have dominated us, they wouldn't have run riot. You don't win, you just look to dampen their impact. we had none of that today and in my mind, it is a personnel issue, not a coaching issue.

'Spurs cannot have Mason in charge next season'
FT: Man City 1-0 Tottenham

Chris Sutton
Former Premier League striker on BBC Radio 5 Live
Spurs cannot have Ryan Mason in charge next season. There is talk of Julian Nagelsmann - why on earth would he walk into this mess at Tottenham?
He could get the Bayern Munich job. Spurs are a big club but it looks like there is one hell of a rebuild after the mess that Jose Mourinho has left.
They have all the gear - a brand new stadium - but do they have a team that fits it?

I wanted the guy out, but I'm not too sure that tells the whole story.

The rest of it I agree with, although they're pretty boring 'talking points' from Sutton there; same old tired tropes.

City are a better team. We battled with what we could. This team has not had proper coaching for probably 2 years.

Get a manager in who can coach - and I think everyone improves. Get out a bit of stale deadwood, and I think we can be competing near the top again.

This has been an absolute shit season - and still we made a Cup final, and are within a shout of top-4 with 5 games to go. We are not that far off.

I totally agreed with the sissoko sub. We wanted Bale on who won't really track back so sissoko comes on as part of a three for the energy and ability to get up and down.

It didn't work obviously but it's not like we were any worse or better. As I said we just never believed we could beat them full stop.

After 70mins or so it was very clear he was having one of those days that every player has

he couldn’t even pass a 10yard ball
All his passes were backwards - that’s not what we needed I’m afraid
I’m not saying a change from the start - I agree with your comments there re bales fitness.
Moura was the only player causing them problems - he should not have made way for bale - which only really leaves son.

We will have to agree to disagree
I think Bale should have stayed on the bench, and in all honesty, I'm not sure what change you would make, I probably would have left it a bit, because the balance looked good to me.

This stagnant squad is partly down to his transfer policy. The decision to sack Jose less than a week before a cup final was down to him. The decision to install an inexperienced interim when an experienced alternative (Chris Powell) was available was down to him. Levy deserves his fair share of the blame for today.

As has been said by various ITK it was Poch been stubborn with transfers that resulted in the stagnation. With regards the sacking if Jose, the vast majority of this forum wanted him gone?

10 minutes to go, we had well and truly rode our luck were still on level terms and did we show any desire to gamble and give it a go and be bold ? No.
Did we show any signs of wanting or trying to get back into the game when we went 1-0 down on 81 minutes? No.

Same shit different day, an attitude from many of the players that absolutely stinks and has been played out in this way far too often. Is it any wonder that fans and pundits level the same charge time and time again, they are right and I hate admitting it but the evidence of this has been overwhelming for years. If the players can't get up for a cup final and gamble and give it a go, when are they ever going to do it ? Answer is, never !
