Because it happens every single window. We have a target who would be a marquee signing for us, make a derisory bid, and when the club quotes us with a realistic number we say "we don't quite have the finances for that" and it's really fucking tiring when you can see it coming a mile away.

I agree. About time the club got called out with it in public. I genuinely think we are 1-2 poor windows away from ENIC being in a Mike Ashley situation, where all the fans want them out and everyone outside the club knows it and agrees.

As much as I want us to get this guy, is it not a bit weird that we are willing/or at least trying to push the boat out on a LW, when we already have 3 at the club (Bergwijn, Son and Gil). I know Bergwijn is potentially seen as a ST by Conte, Son is two footed, and Gil could potentially evolve into a RW, but it seems just seem like weird squad building from Paratici, considering Gil was only bought in the summer. It's pretty clear to me that Paratici has a list of players he really likes and if they become available he'll push very hard to sign them, even if they aren't the right profile, which is a bit worrying.

I've always had the impression that if a top quality prospect becomes attainable then we will move for them. I don't think position tends to come into it with the clubs thinking. If he turns out to be world class I guess it doesn't matter. I guess we'll have Diaz, Son, Moura, Gil as inside forwards and Kane and Bergwijn central. We just need a number 9 in the summer to replace Bergwijn for better balance. If Bergwijn impresses though maybe we loan Gil and shift Bergwijn to inside forward for next season. This guy just sounds like a too good to lose out on type of signing.

Okay fair point I do apologise. If we sign this guy I will donate £100 to this site as we’ve all been here before so I think my money is pretty safe however I would love to be proved wrong ?

But in these threads & in transfer windows, you must realize its inevitable. If you dont like seeing ENIC get shit for their nonsense, then just log off the internet & turn off the tv.

I agree but you do it all behind closed doors not with an official bid(if what’s reported is true).
