Tottenham in fight for £4million Feyenoord sensation

Tottenham are facing a battle with Inter Milan and Valencia to sign Dutch teenage sensation Luc Castaignos.

Castaignos, 18, is rated one of the best young talents in Europe and is already valued at £4m by Feyenoord.

Harry Redknapp is ready to bolster his forward line in January as speculation continues to surround the future of Robbie Keane and Roman Pavlyuchenko.

Tottenham, Inter Milan and Valencia have all sent scouts to see Castaignos in action and the north London club are hoping they win the race to clinch his signature in January.

I really like the look of Castaignos. He's been likened to Henry since before he even broke into the Feyenoord team. Has really started to blossom as a first team regular for Feyenoord this season. Good height, very young, lightning quick, SIGN HIM UP PLEASE DANIEL!!!

He's a European style striker. He's not weedy but not a battering ram by any means. What he is though is lightning quick and seems to have a cool head in front of goal. I haven't seen a great deal of him, but enough to be pretty excited about the player he could develop into.

4 mill is much more reasonable for an 18yr old than the 10+ it would take to get Wickham

He is scoring goals in a really bad Feyenoord team so that is a good sign. Would love to have someone up front who is lightening quick and has good size, so those are two plusses.

With regards to the price, who really knows? It just seems like a number plucked out of thin air.

Pav has neither his pace nor his height, how can you liken him to Pav?

Well Pav is 6ft2 as well, but I think comparing players in that way is a little meaningless. It depends what you do with the height that matters. Pav is a pushover and has no upper body strength at all.

At 4 million you can take a punt on him. But in my opinion, it's far from certain he'll ever reach Premiership Level in the future

At £4m and being only 18 he seems to have all the attributes needed as a initial replacement for keane and long term replacement for Defoe. Would prefer this as well as llorente or one of the strikers from the german league as it seems as close to the prem in Europe. Obviously Dzeko or Gomez would be dreaming but barrios looks good to me, as does one of the others but his name I can't remember

For 4 million and the reviews of the lad i would say he's worth a punt, he cant be worse than Pav and crouch can he ?

looks like we have missed out on this one.

Spurs rue Luc.

Spurs and rivals Arsenal have missed out on the signing of Luc Castaignos, as the 18-year-old Dutchman has agreed to join European champions Inter Milan.

Inter will then loan the player back to Feyenoord until 2012. Officials are due to fly to Holland next week to tie up the £5.5m deal, according to Goal.com.

Spurs had been linked with the player, who has attracted interest from across the continent with his goalscoring prowess in the Eredivisie, notching five goals in his last seven games, though Slapende Reus find themselves struggling in 13th.

I also haven't seen anything confirmed on this. Would be a good young signing.

And he'll want to get out, as Feyenoord are well and truly on the slippery slope. Losing 10-0 to PSV? Tsk! Tsk!

Yea have seen a bit of Feyenoord this year and like the look of him, still very raw though but definitely would come in and be competing for a 1st team spot. Also would be a great option of the bench, can definitely see Feyenoord agreeing to the type of deal that Inter are reported to have offered them though.

I saw some of him for the first time for Feyenoord the other day too. He looks absolutely frightening. Has the perfect build for a modern striker, and is quicker than stink.

This is really the kind of signings we wanna make to save ourselves 20million a couple of seasons down the line.
