Welcome to Bournemouth video

Looks like a lot in the comments thought he had a lot of links to Liverpool at the time, many comments saying he would be Robertson's back up.

Strength from video seems to be dribbling of some sorts.

Looks to have played a lot of LB at Bristol City. So it looks like one that could cover at CB/LB where needed - Depth

After watching that video he looks the nuts. But in reality it’s all lower league stuff. He would get grilled on most of those faints and cut backs. Lots of progressing the ball forward against poor opponents. Saw nowt defensively. Risky one imo.

That video is from 3 years ago.

I love these threads, he goes from a panic buy of a player to Maldini reborn

Is he better than any of our starting midfielders or Bentancur once he returns?
He excels at exactly two things - he presses like he has a bomb strapped to his back that will explode if he stops sprinting, and he’s quite good at getting in and around the box right as a goal-scoring chance opens up. As I understand it, that’s the textbook description of a Postecoglu 8. I think he’d immediately jump ahead of Skipp and be in direct competition with Sarr, and honestly they would both probably play most games as I think Ange will encourage them to run until their legs fall off around 60’.

Rather see zero incoming than see this player that we will need to find a loan with a potential option to buy in 12months time. Now we can see that Fabio isnt here handling things anymore. The same tactic around spreading rumours around 10 different players and the Italian media are not as active around us. Good times never last long at this club

This is it. We will have Bissouma and Bentancur rotating/subbed on and Sarr/Gallagher doing the same. I like this deal if we can get it done (big if). It also means we should have more freedom to go outside of HG when we presumably look for a striker in the next couple of windows.

Any data that suggests he's a good fit?

Is it a data thing? I know what most of you think it is but I'd like to know if it could possibly something remotely positive rather than just grim darkness with every sentence that appears on this site.
I do think the data approach is a good thing, but there is also a bit of hand-waving with what it actually means in justifying cheaper signings.

Data should be used to identify players you may not have noticed because they play for lower teams or leagues (Mitoma, Kante etc) but you still then need to actually scout the players to make sure that there is some justification in the numbers. A bit like knowing their personality or injury record.

Mitoma for example is the classic Brighton signing, but Ange said last week that he knew what a good player he was because he had played against him (which most premier league teams hadn’t).

I could be totally wrong about Kelly, but the fact that Bournemouth fans think he’s not premier league standard is worrying for me. Tosin on the other hand doesn’t start for Fulham but I and most other fans are happy
to accept because he passes the eye test and his numbers are good.

Anyway, it’s probably irrelevant as we haven’t seen anything else since Romano’s “exclusive”

Another player I've seen but rarely paid attention to although I remember him being really highly rated when he was at Bristol City.

I think the doubt about it being thought through and data led us the fact his contract has a year left and that this linked pops up on deadline day eve.

But saying that he is left footed, homegrown and hopefully won't even play much anyway.shoukd VDV stay fit.

Tottenham have offer rejected for Bournemouth's Kelly

Tottenham Hotspur have seen a £20million offer rejected by Bournemouth for defender Lloyd Kelly.

Tottenham's interest in the 24-year-old has been long standing during this window, but they have not yet met Bournemouth's valuation on player considered to be important option at centre-back and left back.

The lack of time to adequately find a replacement is also a factor in negotiations.

Japhet Tanganga is set to leave Spurs on loan while Eric Dier and Davinson Sanchez could also depart before the deadline tonight.

Kelly made 23 Premier League appearances last season and has featured twice in the league so far this term.

“The lack of time to adequately find a replacement is also a factor in negotiations” no shit Sherlock 🤣🤣🤣 🤦‍♂️

Why do we leave it so late every time only for the same thing to happen.

I call BS, no way we bid that high and no way they reject it.

BS?

Surely not.

Why it references our long-standing interest in a player we were first linked to last night.

Surely that's testament to the journalistic integrity and accuracy in play here.

To be fair we were linked when he was at Bristol. But agree I cant see us going straight in with a 20m bid and i can't see them rejecting it

Clearly it's not happening this way, but are Tosin or Kelly really that much better than Tanganga? Tanganga is home grown, a decent 1 on 1 defender. Would I'm sure be happy as a squad option, not cost £20m, etc.

This season particularly, clearly Cuti and VDV are gonna play most games, and the issues come with injuries/suspensions, but tlikelihood is that whoever is back up will play with one of Cuti or VDV, and I'm sure will look fine. Am I crazy?
