I don't agree with and will never get on board with the mindset of elites is basically what I'm saying.
I really don't get the counter argument.
To prove he can do it at a smaller club? If there's anyone with nothing less to prove it's him and he's been playing for almost 2 decades - not a kid with something to prove (although I doubt many people see going down the ladder, in sport or business or anything, as a proving ground - ambition moves in the other direction).
Because fans of a small team will love him more? Maybe but he's such an icon that any club would be excited to have him. And wouldn't that be a weird reason anyway. Like Scarlett Johansson slumming it because it will mean more to date an accountant from Bristol.
Less money. Less chance of winning silverware to cement legacy. Having to do more work on the pitch because he had to carry the team.
Sorry, I don't get it. I get it from the perspective of a supporter. But not from the perspective of Messi.
