So......

Tonight's virtual match thread is on. We go 'live' at around the original kick off time.

You can still watch some football, take what you see and spin it into something completely different, talk about it as if it were fact and show the world exactly how little you actually know about football whilst all the time being under the illusion you are as fine a judge of the game as there's ever been

You're going to love it.

Anyone else a bit worried we play Newcastle after they play a side that's not been tested?
Will Newcastle themselves not be tested though? Not sure if all clubs do them on the same day, or?

Edit: I see this has been answered 10 times over.

Maybe I’m reading too much into it, but I wonder if the fact Sky (as broadcaster) have been told it’s off but it hasn’t been officially confirmed by either club or the EFL means a decision still hasn’t been taken over whether it’s postponed or forfeited.

It's really bad news for Orient, whose finances are fragile, to put it mildly, and who would have been looking forward to an injection of cash from coverage of this game.

Although the rules normally say you forfeit if you can't field a team, I would think those rules have been made flexible while the pandemic is affecting football generally.

The difficulty with a postponement is: when the hell could it be played? We're playing every 2-3 days already for the next several weeks and I would think there must be a result before the next round commences.

Nothing on the BBC Sport website about the game being off. Shouldn’t the Health authorities have an investigation into why LO allowed their players to take part in their last match knowing so many players were ill ?

They probably didn't know, as testing isn't mandatory for them. It's just because we got them tested that it's come to light.

I'll be watching my daughter's U16 team train so maybe I could just throw in a few random observations from that.

postponement is fantastic ..not face Chelsea next week, pushed back until after int break is just perfect

If Orient are able to field a team next week we could play it instead of the Chelsea game. Then Chelsea the following week and if we get through we will end up with another sun tues thurs sun week to catch up before the next round which is 22 dec.
I think the club will probably try to play it if only to help Orient.
Carabao Cup is not a priority for us unless we get knocked out of the Europa.

Would be brilliant as it would allow us to play a strong side against Chelsea which won't be possible if we play them next week. The Europa qualifiers are so important to the club's finances and ambitions that they have to take precedence. For now we're playing what is essentially our best XI on Thursdays but once we're into the group stage we'll be playing rotated sides.

If the match against Orient takes place next week and the fourth round is pushed back to after the international break, we'd be able to play our best players Tuesday/Sunday in the League Cup and Premier League, with our rotated team playing Thursday in the group stage. Would be a massive boost to our chances of advancing to the fifth round.

No we couldn't if Chelsea are our opponents as they would be playing Champions League that evening

Our number 9 should be fit by then

What did everyone do to make Oliver Holt hate Spurs this much
As far as I'm aware, I could be wrong but Oliver Holt has a lot previous form for slagging off Mourinho and writing negative articles about him, I'm guessing, now that Mourinho is our manager he probably thinks we're also fair game.
