Last year, Tony Evans, a journalist who was in the Leppings Lane End in 1989 at 19yrs old, was on Talksport discussing the England team. This is a man who was head of football at The Times and is now ESPN . In response the the England team he said. Scousers are not bothered about England after what Thatcher did to the city in the 80’s. What Margaret has to do with the England team I do not know. For a respected journalist to come out with such crap just shows the extent of the victim mentality in that city.
What’s all this about Heysel. It never happened. Been airbrushed out of history.
How does the song go...Always the victim, it’s never your fault.

I personally think the real mistake is to have a minute's silence rather than a minute's applause.

There are a lot of reasonable people with valid views on why they don't like/respect the monarchy and who may feel observing the silence is offering their implicit support. A minute's applause would offer these people the option of simply not clapping without come across as disrespectful, there is no equivalent option during a silence.

Well, talk of booing the National Anthem tonight seems to be academic now anyway. UEFA are not allowing it to be played in European club competition.

If someone can’t keep their gob shut for 60 seconds, regardless of if they liked someone or not. Then excuse then pun, they are a royal ****

Having a quick look through RAWK, it seems the consensus will be to observe the minutes silence, not because they like the monarchy or the Queen, but because Klopp has asked them too and they respect him. Lets hope they have the decency for the whole of 60 seconds! We shall see.
Can Liverpool fans go 60 seconds without making something about them?

Edit: Fair play to Liverpool fans for observing the silence. Still hope Ajax thrash them though.

Bit embarrassing the bile over the past few pages about something that did not even happen.

Oh really? There was shouting throughout the silence with fans singing “Liverpool” and the ref blew up after about 29 seconds. That’s embarrassing.

Pathetic.

It’s clearly a few people - there’s multiple videos showing this. As for the length, really, who cares? Is the suggestion that if it went longer the levee would break?

Well it’s a minute silence not a 29 second silence. It was called early because they wouldn’t keep quiet. As I say it’s embarrassing really.

Just those 2 clubs? or is there something else about those clubs you have an problem with?

assume you’re going down religious route? Are Liverpool aligned one way or another, I don’t know. Either way, you seem like someone to ignore…
