How many of Liverpools 9 injuries actually get into that starting 11 though?
They’re an aging side who probably can’t keep up with the managers demands these days. As someone else pointed out, very similar to Poch’s last year or so.
I’d expect them to turn it around but it would be nice to finally be witnessing the wheels coming off.

I've already asked this question, sort of, but didn't get an answer........ How on earth do you get 3 games into the season and have 9 injuries to your first team squad? It's more than just bad luck surely?
Have a read of this eye-opening piece from a couple years back which will give you a possible explanation..

Liverpool have got a big injury list but - and they do this every time - they’re overstating the impact of those injuries by including players who, even if available, aren’t improving that team from last night.

They didn’t lose last night because they didn’t have Kelleher, Curtis Jones or Calvin Ramsay. I’d also argue that Oxlade-Chamberlain doesn’t fix the problems they’ve shown so far this season (even though he does provide another option in midfield which they need). Nunez getting himself sent off is nobody’s problem but their own.

So yes, they’ve got injuries that are contributing to their poor form, but when you look at the quality of players they have to come back, in my opinion they still look a bit light in midfield, and will continue to miss Mane up front.

They will recover, they have 9 injuries and its really affecting them.

People are so quick to jump on the bandwagon that they're regressing etc which may have some truth, isn't the key factor.

No other side the league could cope with 9 injuries.

If we had 2 key forwards out, 3 midfielders, 3 CBs out how bad would we look? City have 16 first team players, they'd hugely struggle. No side could cope with that at all.
9 injuries, but I'd argue only 3 of them were consistent first 11 selections when you look at their starting line up against United. Those 3 being Fabinho, Thiago, and Konate. Milner, Elliott and Gomez are all quality replacements.

Just because Jota is injured and Nunez is a headbutter, doesn't mean that Liverpool's front 3 of Diaz, Firmino and Salah are not a valid first team selections.

I'd argue that it was Liverpool's main players who have been atrocious... Trent, VVD, Robertson, Henderson, Firmino and Salah have all performed poorly.

The likes of Oxlade-Chamberlain are always injured, so they can't blame anyone apart from themselves if they're counting on players like him being available to play, much like when we had Lamela.

It’s a fair question. I think they have been extremely lucky with injuries the last couple of years and consequently their side have played an awful lot of football. Given that I think it was only a matter of time before this happened. High pressure high energy football will do that.

Fortunately for them those lack of injuries won them a PL and got them close last season.

Corticosteroids, e.g. beclometasone dipropionate.

Maybe Klopp should spend less time staring at opposition warm ups and more time watching his own players and making sure they’re doing it properly lol.

With the difference that Liverpool have tended to get those players if they wait.

so can understand why he might wait for Bellingham etc but probably didn’t account for the squad he has tailing off / starting so badly

Their midfield looks a weak link especially
To be fair to Klopp he does have a good record when signing players, Pochettino doesn't.

For once some wise words from Klopp. Similar to our last days in the transfer window. And I bet Conte has some of the same views and opinions. Especially with the signings we've already made.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp was asked if he is still looking to bolster his midfield options...

"Ish. Somehow, yeah. But the closer we get to the last minute, the more unlikely it gets. That's just how it is. We're not out. I couldn't tell you names if I wanted to, but it's difficult because there are few players out there who could be the right ones.

"They're contracted to clubs who don't want to sell. We cannot force it.

"There is still time, but when it is over, signed or not signed, I'll be really happy as we can stopping thinking about it and just focus on the team and squad we have.

"We have a good football team, and we must be ready to face all the problems we'll have in the season.

"I'm not careful - I get told what's possible and what's not possible - and that's it.
