I can be 100% sure that if Karius didn't 'show his suffering' he'd get stick for that as well. Once the media and fans dislike a player, he can do nothing right.
None of us would want to be in Karius' position. No other player would want to be in Karius' position, including Pennant and Hamann. He royally fucked up the day for so many fans of his club, including those directly in front of him in the stadium.I understand the criticism of him showboating around town etc. (if that's true, I dunno), that's fair enough, but I don't really get where Hamann is coming from with the rest of it.
I don't think he was begging for forgiveness he was apologizing to the fans for letting them down. I actually thought it was brave of him to do that to be honest and I'm sure he just wanted to go down the tunnel and disappear but he stood up and owned it and faced the fans. Not sure what there is to criticize about that really.
As for "showing his suffering" I don't see how you can criticize Karius for that. I think if you looked back at the final whistle clips of every CL final ever then you'll see 11 players on the losing team showing their suffering. Don't really understand Hamann's point at all there to be honest.
I think Liverpool will get one of Alisson, Oblak or best case scenario Donnarumma this Summer.
They absolutely need to make a statement goalkeeper signing. Their team is shaping up to be phenomenal, sadly I doubt they're going to settle for someone like Butland.

It'd be my natural reaction to bury my head in my hands, and then apologize to the fans you let down. Silly reactions from both ex-players who've played at the highest level, but never went through the horror of giving up two goals in a CL final.
Guess you could you could use that yardstick about anyone that plays the professional game.I’m prett sure most of us wouldn’t mind earning his salary and bring a professional footballer. He screwed up and plays for Liverpool those are easily offset by his weekly wage.

You Alan Partridge? We all know professional players earn loads. It's a football forum. Being instrumental in losing a CL final for your team has to be a horrible feeling.Absolutely. Which is why saying none of us would want to be in his position is a weird thing to say.
Looking like Jasper Cillessen from Barcelona. Apparently they've made their interest known & he wants to go. Having never seen the lad play, I don't know if that's a reason to laugh at them?
Just imagine if he’d been filmed partying at 6am with a massive grin on his face...I can be 100% sure that if Karius didn't 'show his suffering' he'd get stick for that as well. Once the media and fans dislike a player, he can do nothing right.

Sure they would have given him the same praise they’ve lavished on Klopp
I think his point about the ego is hard but fair. Not judging from the actual statement mate.
"My sympathy with Karius is limited," Hamann told Sport Bild. "We don't have to discuss that he decided the final with his two mistakes. Something like that can also happen to a professional footballer. But what I didn't like was his behaviour afterwards.
"To publicly show his suffering after the final whistle was just as unnecessary as his tearful asking for forgiveness from the Reds fans."
Hamann went on to suggest that Karius' ego exceeds his performances, and took a dig at his alleged personalised number plate - highlighting that is something Cristiano Ronaldo could get away with given his success in the Champions League.
"Liverpool fans forgive their stars just as well as any other, the anthem 'You'll Never Walk Alone' is part of life out at the club," Hamann added.
"With one exception: when your ego doesn't match your performance. Karius drives through Liverpool with the personalised number plates 'LK1' and makes waves in the city whenever he steps out.
"That is something Cristiano Ronaldo can pull off in Madrid, because he has won the Champions League five times.
"Someone like Karius has not achieved anything yet in his career and should be happy to have been given the chance by Klopp at a world-class club."
Petition to get Ramos banned reaches 500,000 signatures. Pathetic really, probably a mix of Liverpool fans and Madrid haters.

If they sign Fekir I doubt we will be laughing at them so much next season, they will be challenging IMO.
