Brendan Rodgers on spending £100 million on new players:

"It's a different club and different vision we have here. At Liverpool there's a strategy behind what we are doing."

"Look at Tottenham. If you spend more than £100million, you expect to be challenging for the league."

Yes. Like you do this season? There is a difference between us and Liverpool.

Liverpool net transfer spend since 11/12: £135 million.
Tottenham net transfer income since 11/12: £40 million.

Sure, they problably have better revenues and sponsorship deals, but Rodgers comments are still pathetic.

It's funny how last season pundits were queuing up to suck Sterling's cock. Now it seems he wants out of Liverpool the tune's changed and apparently he's not good enough to move to a title challenging team, or to command a six figure weekly salary.

Brendan Rodgers is facing a major dressing room crisis at Liverpool.

The Anfield boss called a meeting after training at Melwood yesterday and accused several players of not playing for him.

Some senior players spoke up angrily against Rodgers as they were left incensed at the accusation.

Some have been left disaffected in recent weeks and now Rodgers is facing the biggest test of his reign at Anfield.

Rodgers rejected the allegations, insisting there was nothing out of the ordinary in the post-match debrief.

“I’ve heard that this morning. It is something you can’t help,” he said.

“We have lots of meetings here in terms of analysing performance and it was no different to a whole host of meetings we have all year. Those meetings helped us recover from the bad start we had to win 10 games out of 13.

“It was nothing really; it was just analysing performance, analysing where we are at and then feeding forward to the players. With seven games to go and an FA Cup quarter-final, the objectives we can clearly achieve between now and the end of the season. It is just unfortunate something else was made up.

“I have a great bunch of players here who tirelessly every single day give me everything and you can see that in how we play. We might be short in terms of several elements but in terms of the commitment and work ethic that is pretty clear and has been since I’ve been here.”

Looks like Brenda is losing the dressing room, its actually reminding me strongly of AVB's decline.

So Zidane has said Madrid are monitoring Sterling.

Can't wait for the annual Toela line...of Raheem having already enrolled his kids for big school in down town Liverpool.

Was also talk that City are considering making a big money signing of an English player this summer.....which would fit as Sterling.

Plus word that Chelsea are monitoring the contract negotiations of Henderson after he turned down an extension offer...

City have to keep an eye on their home grown quota don't they?

I'd be amazed if one of Sterling or Barkely isn't at City next season.

I really think there is a good chance that Sterling lands with them.....would give Mansur the backpage signing he wants, plus he is young and English.....Nasri and Navas have been shit this season so if they could flog either off on someone I think Sterling moves into that lineup.

IIRC it was Zidane who made the first rumblings about Bale to RM.

It was.

And with the advise Sterling is receiving from his advisers, stalling on contract etc, its quite obvious he'll be on the move - this summer or next.

I reckon it will be this summer. Fancy City to come in with a huge offer.

The backpage of today’s Mirror claims that Brendan Rodgers is facing a dressing room mutiny, after he accused the players of not playing for him following the defeat at Arsenal.

Rodgers came out and vehemently denied those claims at his press conference today, insisting it’s all invented rubbish.

But Jim Boardman, an authority on all things Liverpool and a writer with the Anfield Wrap, has details more on the story, and has at least identified a player involved.

Whereas the Mirror story limited itself to ‘senior players’ being disgruntled with Rodgers’ meeting, Boardman claims that the whole thing erupted after Rodgers singled out Kolo Toure in front of everyone.

The Ivorian had a day to forget at the Emirates on Saturday, and was particularly at fault for Olivier Giroud’s goal.

Boardman claims that Rodgers ‘had a go’ at Toure in front of everyone, which led some senior players to ‘tear strips’ off Rodgers.

He is only saying that to play up to the media, they aren't interested in him atm

Sterling would get slaughtered if he went there. Bale, Ronaldo and etc. are getting slaughtered despite actually being the leagues best player before they left whereas Sterling would get ripped apart if they spent alot of money on a guy who scored 6 goals and he didn't have great form. Plus their fans would be calling for Jese to play over sterling who has been really good when he has played.

Zidane is just a media whore

It depends on how you look at it, because people at the club had been saying it for a while and people like Calderon was saying it as well.

The difference now is though, zidane has less power. He got relegated to Castilla after Ancelotti had done well. He was Dof back when he said it during the Bale saga, then went to being a coach and this season effectively got relegated to being a manager of the b team

I thought they positioned him in the b team as they are preparing him for the first team coach once Ancelotti leaves.

So Joe Allen fancies himself as a goalkeeper as well as Tom Daley. Of course it being Liverpool against a team in a lower division he completely gets away with a blatant handball on the line, no penalty and no red card.
