Great news. Hopefully the start of a long career down this route for him!

Great stuff now please give ginola a youth role as well. He's been whoring himself to the club for ages now and is actually qualified.

Maybe the genius think tank of tim sherwood and les Ferdinand is too tough an act to follow

Was that a joke mate?

I am certain ginola did not finish his training course or he did very little. He was helping out at the club and was expected to be given a position then decided he didnt fancy it.

Loved him as a player but you would have to ask is he lazy or unmotivated never bothered with badges after his career and only became interested when a vacancy was arising with les ferdinand. (it didnt happen the end)

we have another new coach at the club by the name of davey rainford meant to have some good training techniques.

contrary to all the media reports ugo ehiogu has not taken tim sherwoods ex job although has been promoted with the academy setup.

Friedel for me is definitely the one I can see being the best manager.

I really hope we can hold on to him and match his ambition when he retires. The man speaks with such intelligence and sense about the game when I see him on TV, and you can see he'd command respect immediately from his squad.

if he passes on just 20% of that Rolls Royce defending DNA to our youngsters we could have some great CB's coming through in the next few years....never seen another CB who could glide so elegantly out of nowhere to cut off a threat like our Ledley

I'm not fussed about Ginola becoming a coach for us personally

He's not synonymous with Spurs in the way King is and I often have reservations about players who seem to be so naturally gifted and skillful in terms of their abiltity to teach kids and players to do what they do

I think when the sport comes so easy to a player because of natural ability its perhaps harder to articulate the thought processes that go in to making you a top player (because these are instincts in the great gifted player)

King was a wonderful player but I don't think he was as naturally gifted as Ginola and I think he learned well from Naybet and developed a footballing brain to add to his natural physical attribute gifts.

I suppose fans of a certain age will look at Ginola in the same eyes an older fan looks at Gazza or even older fans at Hoddle etc as the stand out Spurs stars from their childhood and maybe do see him as more of a player who represents Tottenham in the heart of the fan of that age group

For me though I'd only want Ginola if he's the best man for the job (where as I'd happily carry Ledley just to keep his connection to the club) and I am cautious as to whether he would be a great coach given his natural talents (I always though Sheringham would have made a great coach as his brain had to make up for his lack of physical attributes to be a top level star)

I see Ugo Ehiogu has permantly joined the coaching staff. Pity we didn't sign him at his peak as a player.
He was the Damiao of his time continually linked but never signed.

Ginola is also pushing 50 now and despite apparently getting his coaching badges has been out of football for a long time. To me, him wanting to be a coach I suspect is just something to keep him amused like his tv work, 'acting career' etc. If he was serious and really passionate about getting into coaching he would have done something about it.

My Missus gave the "Like" rating for this post, seems Ginola can still do no wrong in her eyes!
Don't know what she sees in him?

Brilliant to him in a working role, hope he is as good a coach as a player and can teach poisitoning and reading of the game, they were the qualities that made him great IMO.

Does Sheringham coach? Would love him back too if he could pass on some of his skills.

West Ham played boring football last season so to combat that they didnt sack Big Sam but decided to hire an attacking coach. He is the new attacking coach for west ham

I doubt since we didnt even have a manager before west ham offered him a role. Apparently he wanted to join our coaching staff in 2008 but didnt. He also just completed his coaching badges, he finished it 2 weeks after accepting the job but he got some badges before that

Nothign really against big Les but surely Teddy would have more to pass on to a kid than Les?

I don't know, Teddy seems to want to be a manager whereas Les doesnt, which can be a good thing. Les was liked by the youth players so fair play. No doubt teddy would have more to offer but whether he could translate to kids is another issue
