Let’s stop pretending Serge is a bad player
Once he stop playing like one.

Isn't Paris United a surprisingly reputable source? IIRC they broke one or both of Aurier and Moura before the tabloids and in an accurate time-frame.
Still, it just doesn't make any sense if we're already way over-capacity on non-HG.

I seem to recall seeing another 'X' United account the other day that was connected to this one, I think they're trying to grow their brand, well worth a follow if you're on Twitter.

I bloody would not !We are officially in the stage that would accept every possible signing.
To me, this feel like we have had an inquiary about Rose and if we can sell him for more the Kurzawa would cost then it could be a mover. And Levy would just assume he can get rid of some of the non HG deadwood after our window closes.
No deal is better than a bad deal - I think I've heard that somewhere elseWe are officially in the stage that would accept every possible signing.
le havre academy, like many good players (eg pogba and the new Mendy we shouuld be after, Ferland), andthen Marseille. Played 1 year at Monaco and was linked to us before going there.Monaco, FWIW, also developed Ben Mendy who is also a high potential player.
Problem is once again, like Serge, he will have had no preseason with us and his shortcomings could be evident. I suppose we have Davies which means less pressure but I can't see it being plain sailing.Really struggling to come up with a silver lining here, but in the interests of stepping back from the ledge tonight, here goes:
Yes, Aurier seems to inexplicably lose his brain for minutes/hours at a time both on and off the field. Yes, Kurzawa could be more of the same in that regard. However...
[I still haven't convinced myself, btw. Just thinking out loud.]
- Poch worked wonders with Luke Shaw, who for all intents and purposes is also a brainless sack of excrement with a ton of pace who was named to the PFA team as an eighteen year old playing for Southampton (honestly, a pretty remarkable achievement on both counts) in Poch's final season there and sold for a then-record fee. That was Shaw's second season under Poch and his third season in the senior squad at St. Mary's.
- Aurier is just entering his second season and finishing his first pre-season with the club and all that nonsense. He whipped in some pretty great crosses last year when he wasn't trying to lose games acting like a headless chicken. Also made a few solid tackles, admittedly outweighed by intentionally punching Douglas Costa in the nuts to basically gift the entire Champions League series to Juventus. But bottom line I think the jury is justifiably still out on Aurier and he's deserved a few more opportunities.
- Kurzawa has fallen out of favor for a number of reasons, namely his lack of brain power and discipline, but he was clearly thought to be the next big thing at LB when PSG bought him from Monaco and when he was called up for France. Monaco, FWIW, also developed Ben Mendy who is also a high potential player. Kurzawa has all of the raw tools to succeed, like Aurier and Shaw. Loves to get forward and also has a surprising eye for goal.
- Kurzawa played in a back four at PSG and had more defensive responsibility. Wonder if maybe he might be better as a wing back in a back three? Trippier struggled for us at times in his first season here, but really started to shine through with the shift to a back three and being moved further up the field. It's not completely out of the question that Kurzawa could benefit from a similar shift.
- Poch might just want Rose gone from the locker room asap. And he might just want to bring in cover for a year or two in anticipation of bringing in Sessegnon next summer, or whenever he becomes available.
- We wouldn't have to read interviews of Danny Rose in the Sun anymore.
Just wish we'd stop signing cast offs (if this happens).Problem is once again, like Serge, he will have had no preseason with us and his shortcomings could be evident. I suppose we have Davies which means less pressure but I can't see it being plain sailing.
To put it in perspective Serge was the superior one of the two.
Bae was my baeVery good going forward. Like, very good.
On the other foot, I don't know if he's ever made a good defensive play in his life.
Russian roulette footballer, my kind of player. Sign him up, I love living on the edge!
