Tough season to be a Spurs fan and a number of supporters asking why we haven't seen any obvious signs of improvement yet. However yesterday was the third away game this season where we've scored a last minute winner. This shows character, something we've arguably lacked in recent seasons. I know the pessimists (of which I can sometimes be accused) will say they were against 10 men, etc, but you've still got to put the ball in the net. Is this possibly a result of improving fitness (something we were promised with Pochetino) or the new Philosohy? Or just coincidental luck? Feguson's Man Utd were constantly lauded for playing for the full 90 minutes (plus fergie time). Perhaps we should credit Poch and the squad for this and hope it's the first sign of green shoots of recovery.

Who is this Green-he shoots but does he score?

I seem to recall a few last minute goals under AVB and the internet "experts" put it down to playing at a reduced pace for 80 minutes and then upping it for the last 10 mins.

I don't think you can really look beyond having an extra man for a whole half. Not being a pessimist, but it probably did contribute to Eriksen getting a yard of space, and not getting closed down... and Kane's free kick was fortunate to say the least.

Unquestionably the extra man helps and it seems we need something like a sending off to boost the players into actually playing. But the regular last minute goals are something different. The fact that the players kept going to the end yesterday having missed a couple of sitters earlier is a positive in my view.

Interesting that it hasn't happened at home yet. I'm a season ticket holder and I do believe the negativity at the lane works against us (although I don't think players or the manager should ever use it as an excuse). We never really looked like equalising against Stoke or West Brom, as players didn't want to take responsibility. Yesterday the players and Mason, Kane and Eriksen in particular were really hungry to get on the ball and make things happen in the second half.
