I doubt that we would have to pay £18m for him. That is the same as they bought him for, and he must have depreciated a bit as he has not been playing regularly.

Report have suggested we want our money back for Pav so maybe Real also want their money back.

Diarra is probably more sought after than Pav.

if we agreed a deal for both Diarra & Benzema for about £40, i would be happy with it, specailly as we could get £25m from Jenas, Pav & Keane ..

Not delighted. He's got a decent ability, covers lot of ground and is quite tenacious. But he is also a cocky bastard, while we need a team player and hard worker in midfield. And he is not superior to Palacios at that.

I wouldn't like us to spend too much on Diarra. I see him more as an option in the squad than a definite starter. There will be games that call for him and games that call for Huddlestone. I guess that's the main concern is whether he has the right attitude to be a team player really.

The only reason I am for the transfer is because I think Harry can bring the best out of him. We've had no trouble with Gallas for example. Harry has a way with this type of player. I dont recall problems with Diarra and Boateng at Pompey. I just think those players tend to respond to a manager like Harry in favour of the likes of Wenger and Mourinho.

I would be happy to see Diarra come in and Jenas go out tbh. I think Pienaar can do the things Jenas does but better while Diarra would add extra steel.

that would lead me to believe the striker is Forlan if itds spain but i dont think diaara is what we want.

otherwise it could be muntari and ibramichovoic - which would be lovely but fantasy land surely

If its two players from two different clubs within the same city and one of them has played for 'Arry before, then I can't think further than Lassana Diarra and Forlan.
