Look this is getting kinda boring, can't we just dump it all in one thread? Or use the match thread or something?

I'm all for constructive criticism or even discussion but some of these threads...come on, the quality is just appalling.

lets look at a couple of these thread like

"a few things i think we agree on"
- I mean there is some interesting points here. But is it really valid of its own thread? It is simply a rant. And I don't actually agree with all of them either. But the content of this thread is simply a moan. Something that , and has very little original content. Maybe if a thread was started like "Do VDV and Modric get in each others way?" a lot more constructive and actually about something.

"build our team around vdv and modric not hudd" - Starts promising, not something I agree with, but an interisting point none the less. Now apart from the lack of a real solution to the persieved problem, Dannythomas goes into discussing formations. Whats more this formation talk, seems to have little relevence to the point of his thread. Isn't this still a maon and a thread involving largly one of the most talked about things in this forum.

However despite my conserns about these threads, they at least try to sort of make some form of discussion, but this isn't really the case for "oh yeah the boy bale is a left back!!..." which is a rant, with a very loose direction on the constant Bale LB or LW? arguement, which I am sure has quite a few threads made on it already. But what the thread is really doing, is having a go at Harry Redknapp, To Huddlestone and West Ham. This must belongs in the match chat? or at least somewhere else?

Now I will conclude with trying to give some sort of explanation to what this thread is about, which some might of noticed is a little more then a simple thread asking for a change to the makings of these forums. I think I am simply pleading to the members of these forums to I don't know, maybe wind down after a game. phone the family, go for a walk, play a game. I ask for people simply to wind down before bringing your bitterness and moans to the world of the internet. Because after all it is just a game. Its simply a distraction. A brilliant one at that. One which has alowed me to dream, one which has alowed in the very bad days something to look forward to, and even allowed me to get to the weekend in one piece. But it is a game. And if you are willing to bring your ways onto the internet, at least give it some sort of direction ffs.

p.s. this is not intended to abuse any of the members who created of these threads I have nothing against them. Also the examples I have made above are simply that, I could of picked any out of a large number from the last couple of weeks.

I'm angry111!1

Hudd is, was, ever will be a Championship player. Gio is a joker. Lennon, Jenas and Defoe are spice boys. Modric is too small. Sandro's done nothing at the club. Bale is no left-back. hARRY NOWS NOTHING!

gRRRAASGTGH!

We'll be fine. Might need a few months to settle the team down this year, but we'll be fine.

I think we need 3 or 4 more threads making exactly the same point as this.

i agree with the general notion of this thread but what does annoy me is that in other threads where people are within their right to have a rant and a moan about our underperforming team some people tend to dismiss them as "knee jerk reaction" some idiot having a moan etc.
The fact of the matter is our team is grossly underperforming and we should expect normal logical people to be frustrated with the situation it seems some people like to put their head in the sand and think by some miracle things will just work themselves out. They might and also they may not.
Why is it that our team with such talented players underperfoming? I for one rate arry very highly but i think the buck stops with him on this one, its his JOB to make the team perform and sort out interpersonal issues within the team through man-management.
People will bang on about no good strikers etc. then why the F did arry and levy not sort this out in the transfer window ! Also our midfield is good enough to help out on the scoring front to ease the pressure on the team, so why arent they ?

I am a tad concerned at the mo, 4-5-1 / 4-2-3-1 looks our best system on paper with the player personell we have, bar the forwards, which we really need to shake up a bit in the summer and failed to do.

But I've always been an advocate of Keane being given a shot alongside Pav (as he clearly doesn't mix well with Crouch) and 4-4-2 being our best system as we have always been much more solid and balanced with this system.

But now we've bought in van der Vaart it kind of throws all this out of the window.

Hopefully once Assou-Ekotto is back, we can shift Bale up to the left, Modric can slot back into the middle with Hudd, van der Vaart can build up his understanding with his team mates and we can get a more settled back four in place and get a good run going.

Ill tell you one thing. Im getting very bored of the word of the word 'KNEEJERK' being used everytime a thread starts that critisizes the manager or players after a game.

I think every member on here is entitled to have a moan on here if thats what they want to do, whether you agree with them or not is another thing. C0YS this post isnt necisarily aimed at you but ive seen so many posts recently abusing SC members for simply having an opinion and sharing it.

I think pretty much all our problems will resolve themselves in due course, except for our lack of quality up front.

Gomes coming back will make us a much tighter and commanding team defensively (same goes for our currently injuired defenders)

Modric, Van Der Vaart, Lennon and Bale will all adapt to each other and learn to play effectively with one another (we will gel quickly in midfield soon I believe and become a very creative team, we just need everyone to start firing....you saw what we have the potential to play like first half against BRemen)

Crouch will have the odd good game up top, but with DEfoe out we are very weak upfront (far weaker than a team in our position should be)

I think it was short sighted to not make any changes in this position. (even with VDV signing and potential shift in formation) as in my opinion Keane returning and Eider leaving actually makes us weaker upfront than when we finished last season.

Currently we are relying on Defoe coming back and playing like he did for England recently week in week out (who knows if he can reproduce that form in that role in our league, more physically demanding that the England games he played)

We certainly should have and still need to bring in a striker who is more suited to this role and is capable of challanging Defoe for top spot in our striking hierarchy and I have no doubt we will see movement in this matter come Jan (most likely a loan in loan out)

We all need to calm down though, we are not as bad as we have been playing at the start of this season. We needed to hit the ground running to build on our success of last season, we failed to do this (inspite playing great against City) and have generally played poor with mixed results ever since.

Remember we had players away at the world cup, not to mention they were tired from our amazing run at the end of last season and having to qualifiy for CL etc (mentally draining with less single focus than they have been used to)

we have changed formation and been dealt key injuires meaning we have to adapt and regel as a team, we are still a great team with a strong and very talented squad (don't let a few poor results and performances distract you from this) we will be ok and we will come strong again soon.

We just need to stay in the race for fourth until Defoe comes back and we can bring in a new striker in Jan.

Man city are strong and we have started poorly but if we put a string of 3-4 wins together we will be in a strong position once more, come on the season is like 6 games old and people are doom and gloom mungering like we have blown our chances of cementing our CL status already.

The way I see it we are actually stronger than last year in all areas except upfront, which admittedly was poorly handled in the transfer market....but when VDV settles and becomes match fit he may make light of this problem with his ability to make what strikers we do have look good (once relationships are developed on the football field perhaps)

Yaeh, hour players r crupp.

Wee shud chip dem ap, und eet dem inn siouxpEek

Simple, really, leaving aside any discussions about formations or where certain players should start :)roll:):
Get Gomes back.
Get some stability at the back - particularly centre-half. The imminent arrival of Khumalo should help, there.
Find a striker who scores regularly. Sooner or later Defoe will return, our shiny new midfield will start to chip in more, soon, and I suspect we will be getting someone to 'bang-em-in' in January.

Things will improve, no need for knee-jerking - but have to say, I was hugely disappointed by yesterdays result in a dispiriting way that no result this season has had.

Now I'm all for that as well. Kneejerking is a bit diffrent though, kneejerking are the threads which start right after a game, which are not really saying anything, but are just complaining about the game. Rightly or wrongly we have a reputation for being over optimistic when we are up, and over pessimistic when we are on a down..

If you read what I wrote, it is also complaining of a lack of direction in these threads. Everyone is intitled to a moan (as long as they actually think about what they are moaning about) but there are lots of threads which lack direction. Its a moan, but if everyone started making a new thread when they wanted to moan, then this site would begin to lack a lot of quality as a forum. Its just before moaning people should think about what they are moaning about, and should also make sure they calm down or something, rather then writting hate filled, directionless threads. At least when Gibbs made a thread it had direction, nomatter how controversial the topic was, and lets be honest half the time all he wanted people to do was think.......or just wind them up.

I think kneejerk is correct when something happens once or twice, but when it starts to happen more often then it no longer falls into that category and starts to get truly worrying.

Myself I have stayed very quiet, haven't complained about anything, but as things currently stand I don't think it's kneejerk to say the strikers lack of goals is very concerning, or our lack of form this season is starting to drag on, or how often we fail to brake down teams that play for a point isn't getting highly annoying.

My point is kneejerk is true in most cases, but some times that saying is used too much, sometimes they are right and not kneejerk at all

Whether the above things are considered kneejerk still or not, the one thing that isn't, is our comparison from last seasons results to this seasons. I think only Wolves we have actually improved on and if we are honest, we got lucky a rash challenge started our comback when it wasn't looking good, we are certainly quite a few points already worse off. Luckily we are still just three points behind City though, could have been worse.

Just my balanced ( I hope ) take on it

What about folk who present opinion as fact?

Ridiculous comment....next!!

Don't know...it's a toughy.

It is your opinion that it is a ridiculous comment, but as seen as the comment is stating that it is ridicuous to dismiss opinions and you are refuting it, you are, in effect, saying it is perfectly justiable to dismiss your opinion. And therefore it is not a ridiculous comment. But if it is a ridiclous comment then your refutation of it, being also an opinion, is equally ridiculous, thus making your comment ridiculous. So, logically, either it is an acceptable comment, nullifying your refutation, or it is an unacceptable comment, casting serious doubt upon the veracity of your counter-comment:shrug:
