Misses the England match against Scotland according to the mail, boo hoo.
They forgot to mention 3 champions league fixtures, man city away, arsenal, and boro, Leicester and Bournemouth matches.

Hopefully Vinny will have kicked on long before his return anyway. Son can also fill the role.

The assumption is that it was grade 2 damage, but if it is grade 1 then it will be 4-6 weeks. He needs the rest, anyway. Every cloud and all that.

Big blow for him and us ,specially after just scoring in two games back to back and anything like last 2 seasons he would have gone on a scoring spree ....

However this is why we've got Janssen in and i think once hes scored that first goal he'll feel the pressure lift and hopefully bang a few in,
Also think with how janssen has played as in hassling /chasing the defenders, think this will help the team.

Just need are midfield now to setup with the goals aswell and hoping Son keeps his place after his last game he deserves it.

Well this is what we have been dreading for the the last year, but like others have said, at least this season we have a replacement in Janssen ready to step into his place!

Should have been given a rest a while ago but we never had the replacement, he's played more football in the past 2 years than any other player I can think of in our team. It's just a shame that it's taken an injury for him to get a "rest".

I think the general consensus that he's needed a rest is very true.
Not just physically but mentally as well - he'll come back stronger I have no doubt.
In the interim - yes we have Janssen who has much to prove - I also think that this enforced period of no Kane - gives MoPO plenty of scope to make our attacking third more fluid. Alli has to play upfield, Son is getting better and better - throw in Eriksen, the impending Nkoudou, Lamela and the returning Dembele - and there is plenty of attacking intent to fine tune and enjoy from your well earned sofa sabbatical Señor Kane - Get well soon! As soon as I saw the replay I thought it would be ligament damage and likely around 6 weeks out so no surprise there. May just be the break he needs

As much as I am worried about how we are going to go over the next 6-8 weeks, I am also equally optimistic. Every player who was here last season knows exactly what is expected and more importantly how that fits in with who else was here then.

All the newbies are trying even harder ( probably too much) to get to this same position and respect in Poch's plans. If there is one thing that keeps us going while our main man is out it is WILL TO WIN.

In my heart I think this is what is going to separate us from the rest when it really counts. In the disposable, me me me age we now live in it is; effort, guts, and team that counts and I honestly feel this is where we are way in front of our more favored opponents$$$$$$.

The jury is still out on whether he needs a rest or not. After the past couple of years it certainly won't do him any harm and Janssen needs a chance. If Poch's hand has been forced, so be it.

I don't see any other media outlets reporting this. How do we know the Mail is right?

We don't, prepare yourself for another hundred such articles, each with a different timescale. Not to mention those taking this one and regurgitating it........Its all guessing.

I'm sure the club will make an announcement when they know.

As much as I love Kane, he hasn't played as well as we know he can. I know Janssen will do well given a chance, and maybe a start against Gillingham will give him the chance to build his confidence and get a few goals. Son is also playing well, but would keep him out wide for now. Kane needs a rest, and also gives Poch an opportunity to rest him without anyone causing too much fuss. Get well soon Harry.

While I agree he should have been rested more

That was an acute injury that had nothing to do with fatigue

It'll only be a disaster if no one scores while he's out.
He needed a rest. 2 months would do him the world of good.

Come on Janssen, let's see what you've got.

Shame really since Janssen is still in his early days yet. It's a lot to put on his shoulders. Hopefully he can get off the mark soon. Aside from goals though he does offer the same level of work rate and industry that Kane offers. It's just a shame we can't rotate them for a couple of months.

Hopefully with N'Koudou coming into the mix (I expect tomorrow night) we'll have options to rotate between the attacking midfielders and Janssen.

Good things have come of injuries so let's take what we can from this. Kane had an amazing stretch of no injuries. He managed to get through a large chunk of 2 years without getting any serious injuries or suspensions when we really had no decent cover (Chadli and Son).

Lennon I think came to prominence after Routledge's injury? Mason for Dembele (injury and poor form).

Janssen to score a hattrick tomorrow. If he plays...
