I do wonder if the whole Kane saga is having a detrimental effect on Kounde's thinking.... even if he was tempted he must be thinking.... If i want to move on in 2 years time, will they hold me to ransom too ?
For the record as much as i dont like Levy.. he is correct in the handling of the Kane situation .
If so, Kounde presumably has a professional agent who can negotiate a release clause and have it actually put in the contract

We don't do release clauses in England. Besides we don't want a deal if the player can just leave like that. We want him to want to be part of this project. If he signs a 5 year deal then stays for say 3 years then he will be available for a reasonable fee down the road. Just dont sign a contract extension in a couple of years if you have any intention to leave half way through it.

Would do us a big favour if Zouma can't find a club that he likes - sounds like he's rejected both West Ham and Sevilla now. Chelsea have a lot of money but even they have their limits. Unless they can get Zouma out the door would they be able to afford Kounde after spaffing 100m+ on Lukaku?

Toby had a release clause so it can't be something that Levy is totally averse to. We could limit the clubs that could trigger it to clubs outside of the Premier League or make it only activate if we miss out on CL qualification. I'm just responding to the hypothetical that players might look to the Kane situation and say they don't want to be stuck in the same place, there's an obvious solution to that problem and it isn't a gentleman's agreement.

Really hope we’ve moved on. Bit worried about the lack of links to another CB.

If we don’t get any buyers for Dier or Sanchez I don’t think there will be another CB. Looks like Sanchez is back in training today

Don't think we're looking to sell Dier and Sanchez could go to Seville either in part exchange or to them as a Kounde replacement

I just don’t believe anyone would get near paying what we would want for Sanchez. We paid 42 - how much is he worth now? Would anyone go above 30? Would Levy accept that much of a loss?

Probably, as the value of a player is amortised over his time here, so his value on the books is probably less anyway.

Not his remit any more.

By the sounds of things, he's dealing with Kane but everything else is Parrot Tits.

Levy isn't dealing with transfers anymore.

Reading the different reports, Chelsea are going to splash a ton on Lukaku. They want Kounde but Sevilla don't value Zouma at the same amount that Chelsea do. Chelsea wants to sell Zouma to West Ham- why would they not just take that money and make up the difference in fee with Sevilla? Rather than money + swap, they have more money to put forward in a cash only deal?

I’m surprised this thread is still so alive - it’s clear the player only wants Chelsea (or other Champions League mega-club).

Because Zouma doesn't want to move to WH

Unfortunately, Chelsea don't have too much problems shifting unwanted players.

Some one who Zouma is more happier with will probably come in for him.
