Please.

He's quailty. Exactly what we need at CM imo, and suited to the Prem.

I think we would have had to have snapped this one up by now, a la Alli. He's too good not to be hot on many big club's radar now.

As you most probaly know, his head-coach at Mainz, Thomas Tuchel, will be joining Bor Dor. as their head-coach next season....so I would not be surprised if Geis would join them. As you said, Geis' most likely on the radar of bigger - and richer - clubs than Spurs. But let's hope...

Exactly the outcome I predict. Bender is good, but Kehl is getting way up in the years. Not a chance Tuchel doesn't at least try to go for Geis before anyone else has at him, as he was the metronome which allowed Tuchel's system and versatility to flow. Great, great talent, but I suspect he'll stay in Germany.

I find it unlikely that we land him, but I think he's the perfect player for our team right now.

Would he be ahead of Gundogan, Bender & Sahin for Dortmund? Don't forget Tuchel only had Geis for 1 of his 5 seasons at Mainz.

Well of course, because he was so young. He was still playing in the 2. BuLi when Tuchel spotted him and put him straight into the team. I don't think Geis would be promised anything at Dortmund, but if they manage to make Europa as looks likely, they'll have games and I could certainly see him pushing Bender for time. And of course, Bender hasn't exactly had a great injury record the last two years in particular, so Geis would undoubtedly see plenty of time starting.

This year is the first year in a long time that we may actually have a good chance of beating Dortmund to players. They won't be in CL and maybe not even Europa, they just lost their star coach and are likely to lose a few top players in the transfer window, we pay better wages than they do, and the clubs ahead of them are very good which means they'll have a very difficult battle to get back to the top 4. I'm actually much more worried about the likes of Wolfsburg, Leverkusen, and Monchengladbach, all of which are good young teams on the rise with CL footy and would afford him loads of playing time.

Yeah, but Dortmund won't be away from the CL for long, and of course with Tuchel a) being his former coach and b) generating quite a bit of hype (which will transition to players wanting to move in), it would be an exciting project. Leverkusen won't go after him as they have Kramer returning from Gladbach on loan. Gladbach might pursue him, but I think he'd likely choose Dortmund even without CL over Gladbach were he to be offered. Wolfsburg have the money and of course they'll need a replacement for Malanda, and I do think they'd have a legitimate chance. Again, personally I think he'd choose Dortmund (Wolfsburg has a laughably sized fanbase as they're all car money with no club history/old fanbase, and are constantly playing in front of scores of empty seats), but Wolfsburg do have an interesting team they're building (as do Gladbach, but they just aren't big spenders under Favre, but of course that's been without CL money).
