He was tired and lost concentration for that late chance - if and when he plays more games at this level, that will improve.

His mistake was getting drawn out of position for their narrowly offside goal. If he can learn from that -and it is sometimes difficult to recognise that you are perhaps not quite as quick/skilful as you think you are - then he'll get plenty more game time this season.

All in all it was a confident and powerful performance. To get your full debut at Chelsea and come away with a clean sheet... What more can you ask of a young CB?

After he came on at city, i can't really remember the commentator mentioning his name much as he just slotted in and got on with it.

It was the same against chelski, he slotted in without much fuss and looked solid.

I think Dier and Rodon, defended well, they just need to not give the ball away passing out the back, If you took out the chances we gave Chelsea with bad passing it was a dam good defensive performance

His mistakes were bad but he seems like a driven and switched on guy. It was an extremely difficult game to make your first start in and he comes away from it with credit but also lots still to prove. I think he will get better and better.

At this stage he is probably on a par with Sanchez in terms of performance but Sanchez has had years to improve (including a whole year with Jose) and he hasn’t done so. I can see why Jose thinks Rodon is a better investment of his time.

I disagree more like Dier has been given more time to improve under Jose...nevertheless including Sanchez Rodon Toby Dier and Tanganga we have a good blend.

I said elsewhere he got a hefty smack in the head/mouth just prior to the second "slip-up"

Chelsea seemed to be slipping in a few nasty shitty challenges throughout the game on our players.
