Great deal, well played again Mr Levy.

Feel sorry for the Swansea fans, they all seem like they’re fuming.

Not sure haven't added it all up .
Difference with last year is of course covid, if Deloitte the accountants are right they estimated that a season in new stadium would bring in a matchday income of £100 million for Spurs , so that has all been lost can't see fans back this season way things are going. I am just surprised at the financial commitment Spurs have committed to , Daniel must have broken open his money box.
We played something like 70-80% of games at the stadium and we had the CL prize money plus 2 years not spending.

Most of the best business is always done in economic downturns

I mentioned on here a couple of weeks ago I knew someone in the Welsh setup. I emailed him at the time and heard nothing back. He just replied saying he wasn't aware of a deal as he was away with the U21 team in Belgium but that we had a serious player on our hands who is ready to compete. He said he believes the lad will take the step up in his stride and that he genuinely wouldn't be surprised if he was one of the starting CB's come the end of the season.

Strong words from someone whose football views I respect highly.

Presumably thing holding back Swansea was just signing replacement for him then (sorry if done to death in this thread already lol).

Very happy to get him, being greedy would still like Skriniar to play alongside him in January as our centre back options do need upgrading as can see Toby being moved on.

As a spurs fan, I'm absolutely delighted as he's an amazing talent in the position we needed an extra player.

As a Swansea lad, I'm completely gutted that the American owners have destroyed a once great team, last of the great Swansea talents for a steal.

How good do you think he will be in 2/3 years time? I mean he will be 23 next week and I think this season is mainly about adaptation and getting some game time in the cups and possibly Europa League and the odd game in the league.

The worst thing that's happened to Swansea with the American (thieves) owners will be the downgrading of the Academy.....as the Athletic article says, Rodon, McBurnie and Dan James have all gone for circa £50m in the last 18 months, but the owners have just taken the cash.
I've got a soft spot for Swansea (live 70 miles west of there, almost in the Irish sea) as its nearest big place to me. Very sad, but modern football unfortunately ?

I must have passed your house dozens of times on my way to Fishguard or P.Dock ... I'm 150 miles west of there.

Put it this way, three years ago Swansea had three star youth players: Daniel James, Oli McBurnie and Joe Rodon. Most Swans fans believe Rodon is easily the best of the three. He's so dominant in the air, but also good at interceptions and with the ball. In 2/3 years time I think he's going to be a star.
