Perhaps the bit in bold is holding the deal up...

West Ham are also keen to strengthen in defence and have an interest in the Swansea defender Joe Rodon. However Tottenham are favourites to sign the Wales defender and are expected to ramp up their attempts to complete a deal for him in the coming days. Swansea are likely to demand £18m for the centre-back, who came through their academy, and could ask Spurs to loan him back to them for the rest of the season.

Wouldn't be the worse plan anyways, gives us sometime to shift toby on and ensures Joe wouldn't stagnate due lack of minutes.

I'm still cynically believing there's a medical issue, though usually we hear about deals being agreed and the medical being set up.

I really don’t understand why we’ve gone from pursuing one of the best defenders in Serie A to basically anyone that’s still available.

to be fair, you don't really need to understand. I'm guessing you're not privy to the sensitive internal/external workings of the club, up to date circumstances of all transfers and the different targets we are looking at. With the club having such an awesome transfer window, I'm going to trust that they are doing everything above correctly.

Transfer window has closed for everyone else that was good :cautious:

Think inter are pissed off at us for Eriksen and think someone said they wanted Reguilon but chose us over them. So don't think they were too happy to lower the fee we wanted to pay

How dare you. This is literally what we never do. It is against our philosophy and moral code.

Do we hope he does brilliantly against England even though this might push up the price and attract other bids?

Have always thought that would make a lot of sense. I don’t think it’s absolutely critical we get him in this season if that’s another way to reduce price and guaranty him more minutes. Maybe a clause where we could recall in January window if critical?

Surely they are upset because we did not tell them Eriksen had been poor for the last 12 months.

I'll say it again it's not a financial issue.

I have been asked not to pass on the reason this is being held up. Anyone who has followed my info over the last 5-6 years will know this is a bit of a first, as I'm usually very open and to the point.

If it hits the media I will however confirm it.
