@leakedlineups on instagram (also known as teamnewsandtix) is a very reliable source and has provided 100% certified early team news all season and now transfer news in the summer. He's certified without doubt and posted on instagram 10 mins ago saying Spurs have been given indication Leicester have lowered their asking price for Maddison are going back in for him.

Mate of mine is a big Leicester fan, runs a LCFC podcast and shit.

The tantrums over the last few weeks at Leicester having not yet signed anyone have gotten more and more frequent.

Reality is, it looks like they’re skint, and have a fair few players on wages that would be deemed pretty high for a club of Leicester’s size. Their massive achievements over the past few years I think make people forget that they actually are a pretty small club who don’t have huge funds.

They need to sell in order to buy, and that’s going to mean moving on one or two of their big name players. They may not want Maddison to leave but they may not have much of a choice, especially if Arsenal continue to piddle about where Tielemans is concerned.

I can’t see them letting Ndidi or Barnes or the two big CBs go, so it likely has to be one of those two, if not both.

Remember there were threads about 18 months ago saying we need to operate more like Leicester just because they won a couple of trophies? Well how is that looking right now…? ?

Also worth noting that he got 3 goals and 4 assists from like 8 Prem games playing wide right last season, so definitely an option in that role, especially given how narrow our forwards play. Useful versatility given that we've a lot of depth on the left but the drop-off from Kulu to Lucas on the right is significant.

Well, if we end up getting Maddison....

Spurs get
Forest's one of the best player from last season
Brighton's best player from last season
Everton's best player from last season
Leicester's best player from last season

Going into next season, walking into the PL games against these clubs, we would have dealt a psychological blow before kick off.

Hope it happens ?

I can see it. Similarly to Richarlison, I’ve always loathed Maddison. But I’m a Spurs fan: a perennial loser with weak mentality. I’m beginning to join Antonio’s dots, albeit gingerly and with my hard worn fatalism fully intact.

He’s clearly a very talented player, and if Conte wants him he must not be the total arse I’ve always thought he was. At least, a competitive and ambitious and professional arse if so.

I think he’d want the move. We would be looking extremely competitive with this signing.

Well this would technically be operating like Leicester, because hopefully we'll be paying his wages in a few weeks. :)

Got to imagine getting to play with the England captain would be a massive pull for a guy struggling to get into the England squad too.

i really didn't believe this was possible but if it is, he would be a welcome addition. One of the most needed attributes we've needed the most is leadership. and he has plenty of it. sorry if posted elsewhere

We are in talks. Leicester very reluctant. But his contract and more takes it out of Rodgers hands. Would be an excellent acquisition. We are willing to pay. Turning your nose up at him (some) is baffling. I personally hope it happens. Plenty work to do. Winks in the mix as well.

There is a lot of weird self righteousness on SC at times about “wouldn’t want this/that player” because he once wrote a mean thing about us/doesn’t help old ladies across the road/once had a speeding fine/stirs his tea funny/was seen wearing socks with sandals *etc.

Meanwhile our captain is a convicted drunk driver.

Like you say, it’s baffling to me too.

*actually, having said that, this might be a step too far.

Don't get why he'd leave as a guaranteed starter at Leicester to be a bit part of us?

I can see Leicester doing similar to Villa but instead of selling 1 player for 100m selling 2 (Tielemans and Maddison). That would allow them a decent kitty while also clearing some books. Not too unlike Inter last summer as well. Also if we sell then Winks that's 1 incoming straight away.

But then if they want the cash, maybe they'd choose our potential transaction ...
