His son goes to the school where my sister is a teaching assistant, by all accounts he’s a nice bloke. He got all the staff a £30 voucher for Christmas apparently.

By all accounts? This is literally the only account I've ever heard that has described as a nice bloke. Brentford have put up with him because of how good he is in comparison to how good they are. But it is known throughout the game that he's dick, and most clubs run a no dick policy.

I heard he was quite generous too , he gave all the Brentford staff a pen to thank them for their help during his difficult suspension

*snip*

Could not help but notice the image came from ebay so I just had to check out what lunatic would sell an old ladbrokes pen for on there, £7.99 apparently and he has six of them. Some of his other gems are:
An old sprite can from 2011 (opened) for £9.99
An old Somerfield plastic bag (not a bag for life or anything) for £9.99
Expired "EXTRA" spearmint gum dated 2011 for £9.99
My personal favourite though are two empty Lynx deodorants for £35.99

I just don’t see the top team spending £80m on a 28 year old anymore. All the top clubs seem to go for younger players now.

Personally I’m a fan of the Old Asda Receipt Dated 18th December 2012. It’s a bargain at £3.99 and represents a tidy profit for the seller as he only spent £3 on his shopping that fateful day.

Every time that I have seen him interviewed he comes across absolutely terribly. I thought he showed such a lack of humility and accountability on DOAC.

I genuinely think in his mind he’s the victim. His IG post “Free”……from what? Your own stupidity?

Id love a player of his talent but I don’t want anyone of his personality within this squad.

We wouldn’t even be discussing him if he was of a decent character and didn’t have the betting issue as someone would have offered Brentford £60m for him 12/18 months ago.
I can’t see anyone going near him, what are his options:
Arsenal - I think Lego head would be intimidated by him and likes younger players, plus they can’t afford him
Chelsea - struggle to see how they can afford anyone and their new guy has just come back from injury
Us - No way Ange would want him and I can’t see anyone at the club being prepared to sign that off
Citeh - Haaland and Alvarez
Liverpool - maybe a replacement for Salah and then a re jigged formation if he goes in the summer but they are stacked up top
Man U - not unless they shift Antony and they’ve spanked a fair bit on Hojlund
Newcastle - Howe is smart and he’s already said they can’t spend.
Europe - everyone is broke
Only place that could afford him would be Saudi.
There are no viable options for him, he just needs to get his head down, show a bit of respect to the club who have supported him and help them out of the position they are in as it’s partially of his making.

I swear a couple of days ago he was saying how he felt like he owed Brentford for sticking by him and he was looking forward to repaying them on the pitch and all of a sudden he's twerking for every CL team around. It's just red flag after red flag with this guy.

He will sign a new deal after the window with clauses no doubt unless chelsea or arsenal get sweaty palms. Pl teams are so
Reltuctant to spend money this window due to ffp as there sorting out there admin and don’t wanna get red tape. Spurs are in a really strong position this window to tie in some summer targets .

I read this evening that both Arsenal and Chelsea are trying to get Benzema on loan for the rest of the season. Def can’t see them splashing the cash on Toney.

This is exactly where we want to be, one of the few people with money to spend in a window. We really need to take advantage of it. If we have summer targets who may be obtainable now provided we do a loan back then we definitely should like Nusa. We haven't had an opportunity like this before so it's not even about being bold and spending money we don't have it's just about bringing forward the summer spend.
Surely this is the sort of scenario Levy has been hoping would arrive with FFP etc so let's not waste it.

Agree with this.

There could well be deals to be had now for summer signings who will go into our first XI or at least offer it competition and we can get a march on most rivals. In particular we could perhaps nab one or two established home-grown players without such a hefty HG/PL premium - e.g. Eze from Palace (despite having signed a new deal) which will help with the limits on HG/NHG. Expect there could be more good options out of Italy too - maybe, just maybe, a cheeky run at Osimhen?

For the record I'd be totally onboard right now with doing 2-3 such deals, nobody else coming in this month, and then limited spending in the Summer for maybe 1 or 2 purely to refresh the squad or fill an obvious gap. Nusa would be a decent start to this.
