i was at croke park last night for the ireland v brazil game which wasnt the best of games but one person that did stand out was a small lad called Diego of werder bremen he played in the midfield and he ran the show everthing went through him laying the ball off nice touch able to get past players and score goals i think he would be class with us a lot of people say that we mis carrick as do i but i think this lad is better,
i think we were linked with him before but i dont know how far we got with it, it well maybe worth a look again i went through you tube and there is a few bits about him see what ye think

Diego trained with us as a teenager under Hoddle, and we were desperate to sign him. But the deal, and his Italian passport, were dodgy - so we missed out.

He's a super player, and I'd love him at Spurs - even if he is an ACM who doesn't really fit into a 4-4-2.

I think he signed a new contract with Werder around October. Is a quality player, remember watching Werder play Real at the Bernabeu earlier this season in the Champions League and he was the best player in the game. Would find it hard to believe that he would leave to come to us. Read a report somewhere that Juventus were interested in him

A class act alright, he's unfortunate there's a certain Kaka plays in the same position and is first choice for Brazil. Some of the goals he's scored for Bremen have been unreal, great free kicks, and he takes their penalties too.

We could do a LOT worse.
