we let him go to international duty and he didnt turn up but still took the time off?.....deja vu... must be a way to fire him for repeated 'breach of contract' somehow... ffs

We can't do much if he didn't turn up for intl duty, that's between him and the player.

I've had a couple of bad dates and a psycho of an ex but I wouldn't compare any of them to this arsehole

As my adopted son I can confirm Ade didn't turn up to international duty because he was rehousing Syrian refugees.

Striker Emmanuel Adebayor has played his last game for Tottenham, head coach Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed.

The 31-year-old is yet to feature for Spurs this season after being left out of both their Premier League and Europa League squads.

"I think it's clear he's not in my idea, in my mind or in the plans for the future of Spurs," Pochettino said.

The club had been trying to terminate his contract, which has a year to run, but Adebayor wanted a £5m pay-off.

According to reports, Tottenham had been willing to pay a portion of that amount, but the player is said to have refused the club's offer.

West Ham were keen to sign the forward, who moved to White Hart Lane on a permanent deal in 2012 for £5m. Aston Villa wanted him on loan, but both were put off by his high wage demands.

Adebayor, who signed on a permanent deal in 2012 for £5m, is yet to feature for the club this season.

Meanwhile, Pochettino said £22m summer signing Son Heung-min will make his debut at Sunderland on Sunday.

"Son scored three goals in his game for the national team and arrived on Monday and trained very well all week," the Argentine said of the 23-year-old.

I don't like it. Adebayor needs to go, no doubt. But he is still a resource at the club. I have no idea what has happened but to completely cut him off (and Lennon before him) is quite frankly astounding. If Poch hasn't got orders from on high to do this? Then Poch's lack of man management skills are really coming to the fore.

The guy is clearly scum. His past and present show this to to be true.

On this I back Poch.

I get where you're coming from regarding the fact he's here so we might as well use him, however the fact we're dropping a 100k a week player out of the squad completely suggests he's such an unprofessional fuckwit, it's inpossible to have him anywhere near the first team squad. How many times has he been reported late for training or missing planes or ignoring a call up from his country or fighting with colleagues. If he continues to play despite these flaws, it'll send out a horrible message to the rest of our very young squad. The fact he's been shoved aside will show the youngsters that they can't get away with shit like this.

It's unfortunate we're wasting all that money but I'm fully behind the decision to cast him aside. The fact he'd rather stay and do nothing rather than take a slight pay cut and play regularly says everything you need to know about him and his attitude.

Heard recently from someone I've met that he was a massive behind the scenes problem at a former club.

Arrogant, disrespectful to staff...just a nightmare.

I had been sticking up for him because he's useful but now it all makes sense.

Somebody here suggested to keep him on training with the kids....Inevitably he won't turn up....and surely that will mean fines would be generally adjudged fair . This way we could save a bit of cash.

No sympathy here . Make the bugger get up every day or lose money in fines . Is this not possible ?

Serves us right for signing him, just because someone is cheap don't ignore their history of attitude problems.

Never wanted Adebayor at the club in the 1st place, was very clear he's poison.
We couldn't just leave it at the loan spell. Nope. This was a player we thought, "fuck it, let's pull the trigger" to give 100k a week to. How many potential signings did we miss out on down the yrs because DL was reticent, for good reason, to break that ceiling. And we decide to go for it with a player known to be less than the tippest toppiest pro out there.

Ah well, he's got a contract and we owe him the money.

SMH.

Not sure I'd like him in the ears of the youngsters tbh.

am i correct to say he can still play first team football? at another club?

if he cancels his contract, he will be able to join another team since the free transfer window is still open? as long as the team as a open spot in the team registration list.

i guess he can still leave whenever he wants, he offer to terminate the contract is on the table, ofcourse knowing levy, the price will drop 10% very month. lol!

Poch should explain why he is freezing him out in detail. He made him captain and backed him publicly last season.
I actually support the stance that Adebayor is taking, there is no reason why he has to go to a club just because it's best for us. He's within his rights to see his contract out. I hope Levy learns a lesson from this, but I don't think he will.
