The Hudd pass thread has reminded me of the best pass I've ever seen. We were defending a corner, Hoddle trapped it on his chest and hit a first time volleyed 60 yard pass straight to Nico Claesen who was galloping up the right flank. I've always wanted to see that again and wondered if anybody could remember it, knew who we were playing (would've been the 86/87 season) and if you could suggest where I could find a clip...

I have no idea.

But I do remember a half decent pass by Hoddlestone. Probably not as good as the one you described, but a glorious one all the same.

Maybe one of the old geezers on here might oblige. I'll have a word with my old man, seems like something he would remember.

To be fair he wasn't too bad a singer,Waddle looks like he was drunk!

If we had those two in their prime again we would win the league.

I'd love to have been a fly on the wall when this Glen asks
"Hey Chris, you know what we should do..."

Got it on 7" single - I think it's fantastic and not just an ironic way.

I'd go for two Cyril Knowles passes, 1972 Uefa cup final 1st leg at Wolves.

First pass was actually a free-kick he plonked right on Martin Chivers head to put us 1-up, 2nd was a long ball down the line, again to Chiv, who controlled it, played a 1-2 with I don't remember who, and Chiv then blasted it into the top corner.

Two passes leading to two goals that effectively won us our 2nd European trophy, and thus we became the 1st British club to win two different European trophies.

Think it's on the World Wide Web somewhere.....

"Old Geezers"? lol. It was only 1986/87 season. How old are you then?

Oh yeah, because they were singing live?!

Watch it to the end when Glenn forgets to pretend to sing his line!

Jesus I was at that Shakhtar game and I forgot all about that pass - an absolute BELTER.

Don't remember the Hod pass either, but I'm sure I salivated at it at the time. Hod was and is my all time hero - and yeah, I had that song on 7in too.

I assess every player on how Hod-like they are, and The Hud has /a bit of Hod in him. Not totally there, but he has something!

A headline in the paper read "Hoddle Finds God" to which some wit remarked it must have been the best pass of his career.

one of the best passes i ever saw was by...(wait for it.) Moussa Saib ???

it was at Selhurst Park (not sure if V Palace or Wimbledon?)Moussa picked up the ball inside left deep in our own half, it was a amazing ball, side foot, slide rule cross field pass all along the floor about 50 yards splitting the Midfield & defence and playing in our right winger at the time.

Unfortunately gunner Graham came in shortly after and decided He (Moussa) was too pretty a player (although he looked like Screech) and he didn't get a look in.

Huddlestone couldn't lace hoddle boots, Hoddle was one of the best footballers in the world to compare the two is laughable
