Has AVB lost the dressing room?

Unfortunately, there really is no way of knowing how the players feel about AvB unless you've got some inside info.
Perhaps the more fitting questions would be, 'Are our players intelligent enough to play the system that AvB wants' or 'Are our players getting frustrated with what looks like a complicated and somewhat contradicting style of play'?

IMO - and i hate to say it, but we just don't seem to have the savvy players to make AvB's formation work.
This in turn is leading to mistakes and frustration which could ultimately end up in the dressing room.......and at AvB.

That's assuming that AVb's system is inherently correct for the PL. It succeeded at Porto but they had the best players in the league by a mile and in built in culture of winning.

And even if you make the assumption that AVB's way is the right way, the team has been built to his liking : a sweeper keeper, ball playing CB, physical midfielders rather than "footballing" ones, inverted wingers.

There can be no excuses.

Well i've mentioned before the players don't think much of AVB's 2 assistance. Which leaves the inspiration with Freund. Everyone loves Freund :) . But is that enough?

Even Freund seems more sedate than he was last season, which, inspiration wise, leaves us with a massive problem.

Totally agree.

I really believe that each individual component is there (and potentially GREAT components they are), but as a unit there's a glitch somewhere - personally i think it could be a lack of understanding or simply an inability to play that way.

The optimist in me says that it can be fixed, just need a bit more time and perhaps a 'one-change-at-a-time' strategy/mentality, however we all know how crushing and disgustingly influential the media can be, which could ultimately lead to AvB 'losing the dressing room'.

Just seen that Andre is odds on favourite in the next manager to leave market.

Which is insane.

All this lost the dressing room bollocks is just that " bollocks " one or two players may have said to a friend who knows a man who used to sweep the seats at the lane and whose wife makes the tea that they are unhappy, and pound to a penny they are the players who are not getting a game.

Its always the way, players who feel they should be a starter but do not play always bitch about the manager.
I blame Jenas. He couldn't get a game and now he's gone back in time to haunt us and he absolutely... Will not stop... Ever... Until AVB is dead.

It's the dire football we've played that I can't stomache. I wasn't expecting a lot from this season but I didn't envisage such dross and frequent performances that we've seen so far.

AVB really needs to sort it out but to implement a whole new system, one we want to see may take weeks/months for it to properly work.

Not exactly related to this thread but I see a lot of people slating AVBs time in Portugal.

Well, Porto are definitely the top team there but winning four trophies and going a season undefeated is pretty fucking impressive all the same.

Not only that but he didn't exactly fall into the job. In eight months he took Academica from bottom of the league and without a win to 11th by the end of the season. A good achievement in of itself.

Anyhow, just saying. As it irks me when people roll out the lazy "my gran could have won it all with Porto" bollocks in a weak attempt to belittle his past record.

EDIT: though to be fair we have been painful to watch at times this season.

My concern is that the poor performance against Manc is being talked about as a one off. Yet for me this game ignoring the result is similar in perfromance to a lot of games this season. We dominate possession; limited attacking flair; limited movement and interchangeable positional play and open to providing clear cut chnaces for the opposition.

We have had some luck with penalty decisions going our way earlier in the season and have since encountered teams that have not been very clinical. The exceptions were Ars and west ham who took what they created.

The only game that is an exception this season that I can think of in terms of perfromance was against Newc, when we played better. Following this game despite the result, I thought we were turning the corner but maybe the Newc performance was the one off.

The next few weeks will be interesting to see which way we go, but I am fearing the worst.

Without talking to every player specifically I would say opinion but the general consensus among the squad is that he hasn't, ok?

That's not good enough JJ. We want you to phone every player and ask them, taking concise notes and prepare a report.;).

You have 24 hrs.

The team I coach had a run of poor results. I thought I may be loosing it in the dressing room so took them all out for a few beers and took in a strip bar. Seems to have won them over.

Apparently it'll only get tougher when we move to Under 10's next season...

I started off as a AVB Fan, but as time has progressed, this man is another RAMOS in disguise - To be honest, the style of my beloved Spurs is pathetic - AVB will be gone before the year is out. He has not learnt his lesson at Chelsea, trust me I have not felt this way since the disaster under RAMOS on the 2008/9. As the old saying goes, its also karma - Levy the way he treated 'Arry has come back to haunt him - what really hurts me is the WASTE of MONEY on Lamela and Soldado aka BENTLEY and REBROV in disguise...

Yeah, how dare Levy stand by him whilst Harry was facing jail time and tax evasion charges, how dare he be peeved when Harry openly courted a different job in the press quite literally the day after he was let off, how dare he take offence when Harry hired Rooney's agent and demanded a big new contract when he was mourning his mother. Poor old Saint Henry!
