I know people are still saying its close but its just confusing how many minutes he played yesterday not that he played at all as you wouldnt want to show your hand but to play 80 minutes? when he already had a hat trick? something seems to be getting missed here.
I think Kane and Ange are just being super professional about the situation, he's a Spurs player, so he plays. He's going to want minutes in his legs regardless of the move.

Is that proffesional of ange to give 80 minutes to a player he might not have and leave another player under prerpared? giving him a half yeah thats fair enough but 80 minutes?

A release clause wouldn’t stop speculation though, so we wouldn’t be that better off (money wise definitely).

I agree though, we need him to sign a contract if he is staying. I don’t know how we can realistically convince him, sounded like our contract offer was high. We can sign all the players in the world but it takes time for them to gel.

Will surely come down to personal preference. I’ve been offered jobs in the past after interviews, sometimes moving on to ‘bigger and better’ things just isn’t as appealing when you know how much it will change your family life with young kids.

Is an easy trophy worth all the hassle? Or stay, get paid a shit tonne of money, play exciting football, become PL top goal scorer at your boyhood club?
I could live with the speculation if we got to keep him for a year. I think the disrupting impact of speculation is over-stated anyway - and can't be eradicated even if a player has 3-4 years left on his deal anyway (e.g. Kane/Man City saga).

If any release clause has defined time period for activation (specifically, it must be activated X weeks before the new season), then we can largely know where we are with things and can prepare properly - not like this year where it's still going on 6 days before our first game.

His kids will be going to Eton or the like, another likely reason he's buying a place in Wentworth.
He is an extremely wealthy man who doesn't have to look at things from the same perspective as ordinary people like us so on that score it really doesn't matter where he plays his football.
He wants to go to Bayern Munich and win trophies, I appreciate many people on here think that's an easy win but they're missing the point that you have to be good enough for them to give you the opportunity of that easy win, that's where the achievement comes into it.

I feel that if a move was close it was reckless for Kane to play any part in the game yesterday.
This is true and said a lot for my way of thinking.
I think it's down to DL to show some ambition and Kane will be happy to stay.
Make a decision in 9 months time when there is more information to base the decision on.

If he takes him off he gets a media shitstorm to contend with.
If he plays, he gets fit and helps us get a morale-boosting win.

Might have been different in Richy was fit, or if Veliz had already joined.

Are you some kind of mind-reader?
I work in psychology and I don’t have a clue what’s going on in his unique mind.
So I have no idea how you have access to his most primal thoughts.

It’s all conjecture. You have no idea what his motivations are, or indeed what actually makes him happy.
Everyone is different.

I think Ange all but explained it in his presser:

I just want to deal with what's in front of me because I've got to still, irrespective of the outcome of that, I'm building a team here.

I can't wait for a decision either way to get going. We don't have the time or the luxury to do that. I'm working with what's in front of me. You saw today that Harry certainly is invested in what we're doing and we'll keep on doing that unless something changes.

He just deals with the current situation and doesn't bother with the IFs and BUTs. Until Ange is explicitly told Kane is leaving he'll treat him like he's staying and play him as such. Whether the deal is 50/50 or 90/10 complete, I don't think Ange gives a shit.

He wants to win games, Kane is our best striker and, regardless of the speculation, if he's still at the club Ange will want him fit and ready for Brentford to help us get 3 points.

Were not talking about an average left back, it's Harry Kane arguably the best striker in the world.

Ange has to prepare the players he has available to him and right now Harry is his player so he has to play.

I wonder how much longer this can drag on. Really odd situation to be in a week before the season starts. BM by all accounts have made an offer very close to what we are asking for (“an acceptable offer”) but we haven’t turned it down nor have we accepted it. Is Levy still unsure or is Kane now having doubts? Ether way surely something has to be decided in the next 1 or 2 days max. We really don’t want this hanging over us any longer surely.
Maybe he is just trying to agree a deal for a successor

Really? You think I have to be a mind reader to know he wants to go to Bayern Munich? How about if he didn't want to go to Bayern Munich, he'd not be sorting out a move there, he'd have killed it dead just like he would if Sunderland wanted him to go there.
I think what is going on in your mind is denial.

Not sure if most clubs would play someone who is all but sold, (especially for the price we will get for Kane) in a friendly and risk him being injured and it falling apart?

I have no idea anymore if he will go or stay, but getting fed up of it. We just need it sorted now!
